And the birds are a perfect touch. It's very pretty in fact, I think it would be a great mother's day gift ((even though it already passed)).

I'm sure she'll like it. Mom's like it when their kids make stuff for them because it came from them and not a store-bought item. Last mother's day I made my mom a duct tape flower pen and she really liked it. My mom does the same thing, I'll go though my drawing ((I used to draw a lot when I was in sixth grade)) and my mom would come over and tell me to keep them because she thought they were good.

parents are odd at times - at the moment the boyfriends parents are going nuts over my work his mom has her eye on a few of my framed pieces at present and brought a load of my tester cards - i've warned her i have more designs ready now lol
my mom kept pieces of my work from when i was at school including a spider made out of two buttons a piece of eggbox carton and paper that i made when i was 4... says it all really.

Haha. My mom sometimes steals my artwork ((mostly my digital pages)). She likes to post them on Facebook and Pinterest. I ask her if I'm at least getting credit for it and she said that for some of them I am.

I still have some of my art projects from when I was in grade school too. I have a dragonfly sculpture made of clothespins, tissue paper, and plastic googly-eyes. I also have a replica painting of this (([link] )) That I did in 6th grade. My mom even has some of my drawing from before I went to kindergarten.

i once had someone send me a quite cross message on here - saying i was stealing art from redbubble.com basically the person put 2 and 2 together and got 5 the profile on redbubble.com was ....yup you guessed it 'rockgem' it was me i've just set myself up an art page on facebook. and just occasionally so my friends who are not on dA don't feel left out i upload work on there first. basically search rockgem and you find me on facebook - my boyfriend thinks its cool that he can type rockgem into google and get pics of my work out haha! (bless him)

googley eyes are epic!! everything (well almost) is better with googley eyes or so the boyfriend says... i have to talk him out of buying googley eyes every time we go to hobbycraft ( hes 34 but at times hes like a big kid )

Haha. You can't blame them entirely because people make mistakes. I'll check out your Facebook page and see what's on there.

Haha. Googley eyes are epic. My mom puts them on almost all her animal-related crafts.

rockgem In reply to Magnetic-Roses [2012-05-28 22:09:49 +0000 UTC]

true it is quite easy to make mistakes but generally the problem was i had reported them earlier for using work that was not theirs to use - so they found a way to dig at me so to speak so they (apparently) reported me here for stealing my own work from redbubble.com and reported me at redbubble.com for stealing my own work from deviantart nothing came of it so i will assume they didn't do anything or if they did it was discarded.

well we saw some little icing eyes at hobbycraft - the boyfriend wanted to take some home so he could put eyes on cakes ( then obviously wanted to make cupcakes as well..)

Magnetic-Roses In reply to rockgem [2012-05-28 23:16:40 +0000 UTC]

Well, there's a likely chance that they deleted it. And maybe they tried to get back at you and it didn't work. Just be glad it's over.

Haha. That sounds like a cute idea. I'll have to tell my sister ((she bakes)). And everyone like cupcakes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rockgem In reply to Magnetic-Roses [2012-05-29 09:09:48 +0000 UTC]

chances are all it would take is a look at the contact details of the artist on both sites to see that they are IDENTICAL

it was a cute idea - i think Graeme (my boyfriend-shaped-creature) saw some cupcakes on here that were like iced then used blue sprinkles on them and little icing eyes and then had mini cookies stuck into em - so they looked like cookie monster faces either way he wants to make some when we get chance ( i always thought it was a girly thing to make cupcakes but go figure )

Magnetic-Roses In reply to rockgem [2012-05-30 00:28:04 +0000 UTC]

Awh. That sounds really cute. I really like the Cookie Monster because he kinda reminded me of myself when I was little. And did you know that he's no longer the cookie monster? He's now the veggie monster because of health conditions ((or at least in the USA because we have obesity problems))

And I thought that baking was kinda girly too but then again, I'm into pirates which is kinda a manly thing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rockgem In reply to Magnetic-Roses [2012-05-30 10:00:45 +0000 UTC]

but the cookie monster was ALWAYS the cookie monster - i think a little bit of my childhood just died lol! though in one of the Laurell K Hamilton books there was a were-lion character that was nicknamed 'cookie monster' cause he had bright blue hair

me and the boyfriend have an odd relationship he is a real flouncy goth at times and more girly than i am he spends longer on his hair and makeup when we go out than i do! - i've always been a bit of a tomboy as it were so i guess we balance each other out - i keep saying if we ever have kids someday it will be all like 'mommy will teach you how to wallpaper, put up shelves and stuff like that and daddy will help you do your nails and braid your hair'

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Magnetic-Roses In reply to rockgem [2012-05-31 00:36:52 +0000 UTC]

I'm so sorry. But it's kinda true.

Haha. Your boyfriend kinda reminds me of my guy friends. They're all in band class with me and before a concert or march, we meet in the band room and they're almost always late. They say that they were combing their hair 100 times and going through their uniform with a lint roller. But they always look handsome. We have a concert tomorrow and it's the one concert we can go to without our uniforms. So I'm excited to see how the guys clean up.

I'm kinda a tomboy too but I do have my girly moments.

And what does your boyfriend think of that joke?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rockgem In reply to Magnetic-Roses [2012-05-31 10:13:12 +0000 UTC]

*whine* <---- see that made a sad rockgem.

in all fairness its good to know there are guys out there that DO take a little pride in their appearance and such instead of slobbing round in the same tee and jeans for about a week! urgh!

i have complete girly moments but they are few and far between and if i confess them to you i'd have to kill you...
the boyfriend usually hears me say that then flips his hair with a 'hmph' and says 'i'll have you know i can put up shelves too!'
although there was one moment and i failed to witness this cause it was way before he and i ended a couple - he was with a friend of his Sam and she was literal,y putting the car engine back together and he was sitting there doing his nails

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Magnetic-Roses In reply to rockgem [2012-05-31 23:45:42 +0000 UTC]

<-- Does that make rockgem feel better? What if I give you a llama?

Yup. Even guys need to have their beauty moments.

Look there ^^ some guys like to be pretty too. Even if it means being kinda girly. And being girly isn't so bad. I'm not a girly girl but I'm not tough like a manly guy. I'm kinda in the middle but I would say I'm closer to they guys then the girlies.

And your boyfriend sounds funny. Doing his nails while Sam is putting a car engine back.

rockgem In reply to Magnetic-Roses [2012-06-01 09:20:36 +0000 UTC]

hurrah for hugs and llamas! and many many faves! lol thankyou for the support there

but some guys have em more than others - i used to be more 'manly' at one point as i used to work in a home improvements store and spent most my work shifts with the guys helping move boxes of wallpaper tins of paint and furniture and carpet rolls

he is rather amusing at times bless him we're headed out Saturday night so this should be fun i think we're all decending on my place to get ready and go party its just fortunate my mom for some reason has a lot of mirrors about the place so we don't end up squabbling

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Magnetic-Roses In reply to rockgem [2012-06-02 02:03:01 +0000 UTC]

Oh. lol I was just looking at your fractals and fave-ing the ones I liked ((If I could, I would favorite all of them ))

Wow. That sounds like a lot of work, and very tiring . I used to be kinda manly too but I wouldn't say lifting heavy boxes manly. Last year, for church we went to a house and we were fixing up the backyard. We washed down the plastic slides, put flowers in the garden, and I fixed a sprinkler. I'm not too sure if it's manly because it doesn't exactly require a whole lot of muscles. Although, the glue I used to fix the sprinkler stained my hands a blue-ish purple-ish color for a month.

Have fun tomorrow. And you're mom is very smart. No offense to you or your boyfriend. She's just being protective.

fave away is nice to know what i do is appreciated

it was a lot of work but it saved me on gym membership fees haha! actually i have never been to the gym. just not my thing really. if its DIY and such its manly (apparently) and lol! i know that feeling all to well getting covered in goodness knows what and staining fingers odd colours

well i think its cause mirrors reflect light and they make the rooms look bigger when they do that so we have quite a few... i think the only room without a mirror in it is the kitchen

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Magnetic-Roses In reply to rockgem [2012-06-02 16:46:07 +0000 UTC]

I don't go to the gym either. That's what PE is for but my mom is considering to take me there.

And the stain was an accident. I touched the inside of the cap where the glue was with the brush inside and... yup.

Haha. it's small on the outside and big on the inside. It's best to not have a mirror in the kitchen because what if you see the reflection of the stove and you walk into it by accident.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rockgem In reply to Magnetic-Roses [2012-06-03 18:26:49 +0000 UTC]

lol! i used to like PE when i was younger - i used to be a sprinter before i messed up my ankle etc. & i used to like rock-climbing and badminton and kicked ass at field hockey most my friends now never realized i used to sprint until they see me run for something then they sort of go

its usually the case i remember once i forgot i was painting and i usually put my pens behind my ear. well either way i did this with a paintbrush with red paint on it and managed to stain the top of my ear

good point besides there is no room in the kitchen to hang much like that - there are like two gaps for artwork when my mom has finished redecorating i shall do the art for her

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Magnetic-Roses In reply to rockgem [2012-06-03 20:47:45 +0000 UTC]

I'm a lazy American who actually does her best in PE but doesn't really like it. I used to like to play paddle-tennis but I got hit in the eye kinda hard and broke my glasses. But I did enjoy playing Capture the Flag.

You and me both. I was helping my sister pain her room when she moved back in with us and she told me to get a little paintbrush and get the corners. I put the little paintbrush in my mouth ((kinda curling my lips around the stick not the brush part and not all the way in my mouth, ah, kinda how you would put a credit card in your mouth when your hands are full)). And I climbed up the ladder and the paint on the brush was sliding down to the stick and I spit out paint. It was nasty and I stained the side of my mouth.

I think my mom is getting tired of my art. So far the only art that she liked that was mine are the Storybook Creator pages. ((She has a Pinterest and she takes my creations without asking )) But other than that she thinks I make the same things over and over but I kinda agree with her on that.

lol trust me - me and glasses and sport are not bestest of buddies

i have so done that - too many many times to count haha! i no longer feel alone in my daft paint-eating accidents

i think my mom has moments like that as well occasionally she uses the tone of voice that you might to a small child when you say 'thats nice i'll put it on the fridge door

Magnetic-Roses In reply to rockgem [2012-06-07 02:06:06 +0000 UTC]

Yay. I'm not the only one who gets pain in their mouth!

Yea. I guess that's why I try to be different with my art to give it variety and see what she likes and doesn't like ((of course I'd still like to do what I want. After all, it is my art )).

lol I was little when that happened. I couldn't get a pen to work to I took it apart and flipped it upside down on my face and most of it got in my mouth. And now there's a purple pen ink stain in my sister's room ((my old room)).
