A very late night piece, again trying out some new techniques.(Done on my good friend*NegativeLight 's pc after he went to bed. luckily he has a fairly recent copy of my brushes

I would like to start off by mentioning that I am not a painter. I specialize in only photography, but yet I feel I am able to critique art.
Let's get started.
The looseness and emotion of this piece is astonishing. The figure works very well with the background and the smudginess of some of the lines adds. I think that the character floating in space is a little bit odd, but does not significantly detract. My only gripe is that the knight is a little too far to the left. You still demonstrate amazing prowess with the brush and it is an amazing piece of art.

Haha yeah.. unfortunately I wanted to make the evil presence more intimidating, making him more badass.. but I got bored!

Thanks, yeah if I had more time I would have made that all a bit more menacing with a few more shapes.. I just got bored though!
I'm glad that reads as a laurel wreath actually, looking back I wasn't sure how clear it is. I just really like them, I'm obsessed with Classical cultures, and really like the wreath as a symbol of majesty, power etc etc (I have one tattooed on my back too
