Nah, I'm good! I designed my own tome for him which I called "Psiflame"
Thoron was kinda too boring for me... Also, why Thoron of all tomes? It's not like this is Robin's personal tome or anything

Oh, I'm kind of a purist when it comes to merging franchises and stuff, don't worry.

About Thoron...it...is indeed Robin's personal tome. You can try and count the times it is associated with it, it is even used to, spoiler here, "kill" Chrom during the story. Also, its eponymous weapon, Robin's Primer (it appears in Fates), is indeed a weaker Thoron.

Though it's okay if you found it a bit boring. I like the idea of it being a extremely charged up electric beam. The sound would be terrifying!

Nah, I beg to differ honestly, I just rewatched the cutscenes with Validar and Robin's tome is not clearly seen in the scene... It's clear that it is a tome of the Thunder line, but you can't see clearly whether it is Thoron or not... Only the first spell Robin casts resembles Thoron's FE13 animation, the second one looks like the regular Thunder (or Elthunder in the Smash Bros. series) and the third, dagger-like thing doesn't resemble anything from FE13...

FE14's Thoron always bugs me a lot because it doesn't look like FE13's Thoron at all, it's just... Weird. The only weapon nominally referring to them is indeed Robin's Primer, which only appears in Fates and Warriors. In Heroes, Robin's personal tome is Tactical Bolt and Tactical Gale respectively, while even before the inclusion of these two tomes, Robin did not inherently use Thoron, they used Blárraven and Gronnwolf respectively. Even on their official artwork for Sm4sh and Smash Ultimate, they are both displayed with the regular Thunder tome, not with Thoron.

The thing that convinces me that Thoron can't be Robin's personal tome though is that it can be used by any other unit who can cast magic (in FE13 at least, the game Robin originates from) and it does not nominally refer to them... Thoron was even present in way older games already. Heroes even went so far as to give Tailtiu a personal tome called "Tome of Thoron", so if anyone, it's Tailtiu who should be associated with Thoron...

I agree with you that Thoron as a charged up electric beam is pretty cool though, it's just not really what I wanted for my Sona is all

You went a bit overboard. Robin is indeed always equipped with a good Thoron on its side and it is often referenced in its appereances in different media. Instead of a personal tome (which, yes, I admit, it is the wrong way to say it), you can call it its signature, sorry if I wasn't clear but I really didn't mean it was from them and them alone.
Since it is indeed the master Tactician, it would be bad to just have one tome in store, wouldn't ya agree? Let's call it a draw, they can use whatever they want.

It's one's choice after all.

Their repertoire in Smash points towards this Master Tactician thing you mentioned, it's quite broad ^^
