So I finally finished Life is Strange last week and without a doubt my favorite game. I felt lost after the ending, there was a void, no, a storm in my heart. But ahh, it was so good and so fun and I just loved everything about it. I loved the pace of it, the themes, the songs (I have added so many new songs on my Spotify), I started to like quite a lot of the cast. From the start when I mostly just knew about this from watching everybody else’s gameplay and then reading the comics, I kinda just like 2 or 3 characters but playing it myself and exploring on my own, it was like I got to know these people myself. And biggest surprise was Chloe which I did not like at all at first and knowing I would spend quite amount of time with her made me take a long pause between Ch 1 and 2 but the more time I spent with her, I started to enjoy their friendship and when I came to the ending which I was set from the start that yeah, I was gonna sacrifice this girl without a doubt, I actually hesitated, I had to think that final choice through for so long cause I didn’t want to end her.
And I loved the damn good change in tone over all the chapters, the slow introduction in Ch. 1 to the detective work to the pure chaos, stress and anxiety that was Ch. 5, it was an absolute nightmare and emotional rollercoaster in all the right ways and I just wanted to yell at the screen as she got stuck in the time loop.
And Sci-Fi trope I love so much is this with time travel and different timelines and I really love how they used it in this game and with the photos being these literal frozen moments in time that you could jump between and the tool it took on Max as she used it more and more and also the massive side effects that she’s not just rewinding time but also screw with space and causing all these natural disasters and chaos.
I will absolutely play this game again and I have gotten so many ideas I can’t wait to draw and now I have another game in my small 100%-completed list, the others being… Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Lego Avengers and Spider-Man PS4… Wonder when Hogwarts Legacy will join that list…
