They now changed Dial Tone into a girl as of Resolute. And, if you go with the international lines, there's Quarrel (Action Force) and Glenda (Argen 7), of course, not counting the COBRA girls. Dela Eden I guess also fits here even though she was not COBRA or Joe, she was part of the Red Shadows.
Though not in the cartoon series, in the original comic run, there was Shooter, Hama named her after at the time editor of Marvel, Jim Shooter. She was also in Devil's Due's G.I. Joe Declassified#1.
Daina- Also comic-only and during the original comic run of the '80s. Shewas part of the Oktober Guard who then joined G.I. Joe.
Firewall- Came in during Devil's Due's publishing times.
So vintage as in characters around during the '80s you can add are Shooter, Daina, and possibly Quarrel and Glenda. Hope that helps! And btw, will never complain about more Jinx and Lady Jaye, lol.

Great art as always. I'm on the fence with Helix. Still to new for me to make a judgment about her. I have faith that Dixon will work his magic and make a really good story with her.

Beautiful work, as always! I love the detail and you've done a nice job with the extreme foreshortening of their arms.

Helix is not only almost identical to Scarlett, she's a MarySue character, what with her kicking SnakeEyes around like a soccor ball and Hawk giving the "We have to be like Helix or we're doomed" speech. That's what irks me. I personally think they should kill her off or stop marking her as the Uber-Joe that no one can beat. If they make her shove Scarlett aside as a SE love interest, whether SHE wants it or not, I'll stop buying the comic. That said, your artwork saves the whole book for me... with Helix in it or not.

Scarlett, Lady Jaye, Jinx, Covergirl. Shooetr was mentioned in the first issue, but not revealled until Declassified came out.
"G.I." Jane was a scientist who made a few cameos in the original run.
Mayday, Bombstrike, Feedback, and Firewall were introduced over the various years and titles.
Probably the biggest problem is that the original comics were basically built around the toy line, and still is, really. And quite frankly they just don't make too many female figures. Which, when you look at the quality of the older figures, is actually somewhat understandable. The female figures of the original lines are horrible in comparison to the others.

okay this is very true, they couldnt sculpt a female Joe at the time that was anything remotely good looking. Also, Im sure they didnt want their toys to be called "dolls" and thats easier to get away with when they arent girl characters.

I'm all for adding new female characters into GI Joe!
And she does look fun to draw.... (awesome work, by the way)
But this Wikipedia definition is the very reason I do not like Helix:
A Mary Sue (sometimes just Sue), is a fictional character with overly idealized and hackneyed mannerisms, lacking noteworthy flaws, and primarily functioning as a wish-fulfillment fantasy for the author or reader. Perhaps the single underlying feature of all characters described as "Mary Sues" is that they are too ostentatious for the audience's taste, or that the author seems to favor the character too highly. The author may seem to push how exceptional and wonderful the "Mary Sue" character is on his or her audience, sometimes leading the audience to dislike or even resent the character fairly quickly.

Could be. The creator of the marvelous webcomic 25 and up seems to think so. [link]
