Speed painting to improve my painting skills, and I'm very happy with the result Near is my favourite from Death Note,and although a lot of people don't like him I still think he deserves more love

Aaand some insight thoughts of a fangirl:
One of the major reasons I've heard is:"I hate him because he didn't solve anything, L did all the work". And it is kind of true, seeing all the information he and Mello got from him post mortem, but Near never claimed Kira's arrest as his own success: he was the last one standing in a team of three, where L started the job, then Mello made is part, and Near finished it. That's why, at the yellow box, he shows L and Mello's puppets along with his in front of Light: Kira perished under a teamwork that wasn't directly shown, but it was there all along; he even said it, he would have never made it without Mello and L's help. Near showed respect for both L and Mello, he gave them proper credit for what they did and in the end he kind of shows this respect by "making his own" some of their characteristic traits (you can see him eating chocolate in the very end of the manga) as a way to say that he admired L and Mello, he wanted to learn from them to become a better detective. In a sense, it was his way to make them still live in him, as the teamwork they're always been: a way to keep them close to him, as they're just one person. I really love how his character was developed, it was so subtle and yet so deep.
But then again, this is just my opinion Death Note has a lot of great character, each one with a deep and complicated personality.
