Yesss. It's been such a long time since I've seen a primary colour palette and it's quite refreshing. You've gotten better at drawing his scars, too - it looks interestingly like carved clay before it goes into the kiln, which I suppose would make for an interesting story.
I like the texture you made by drawing with lines instead of block colouring and blurred shading like is typically done. It gives the fabric an interesting texture, and maybe carrying this technique over anew with a bit of careful cross-hatching could easily make me believe it's dyed linen. The undercoat is awesome, by the way; I adore how it folds with such believable ease. And the blue really brings out his eyes!

Oh my goodness, that comment about his scar sounds like an excellent prompt.
Yeah, I've been looking at coloring tutorials a lot, and one idea that really stuck with me was some dude saying that coloring with sharp edges shows more movement and confidence... He didn't like it when people used blurring and blending too much, he said it just didn't look as good, but this style looked more painterly and artistic. I combined that idea with the way I've been shading traditionally - using lines and hatching, which does indeed look better than just blending everything, because you can use the angles and curves of lines to show a more 3D form. It was a bit of an experiment, and I may have to play with it more - it looks odd to me in some places, but I learned and it was a lot of fun. And, most importantly! The very style of it, being kinda messy as it is, allowed me let go of mistakes more than usual and draw a little faster, which is fantastic.
... OH. Like how I cross-hatched the hood in the traditional Bakura piece, which you also commented on. That is a REALLY good idea, I... am now really tempted to edit this... that could look so cool. :/
Thank you so much for the comments and critiques, I really appreciate it, they're always quite helpful and inspiring.

Which is precisely why I said it XD
They do, yeah. One art class I had let us paint, and the teacher taught us about a whole bunch of different methods to show movement and emotions in a piece. It was quite fascinating, but unfortunately I've fallen out of practice.
Perhaps you could eventually draw some things that just play with fabric? You could probably try your hand at illustrating Atem's bed or something - since it's traditionally linen, with a lot of natural folds and light sources, and it would be an interesting take on a screencap.
