This says so much more to me than any media coverage could. It's wonderful you made it here to share this with all of us. Very dramatic

Well I moved back to Italy in 2000 from New York....I lived there for a while. Last time I came it wasn't the same New York....but New Yorkers are surely stronger than before
Wow I always feel some pain in my stomach thinking about that day...one of my cousin, she works for People magazine....and was supposed to be there that morning...thanks God she wasn't there.
And thanks God you are here too

Yeah, the City definitely changed after 9/11. But you can't keep New York, or New Yorkers, down!

whoa... you were there? this looks like it was taken the day of the event.

it still chills me when I see footage of those buildings going down. I knew people that work in one of the offices and had even been in one the buildings a few times.

Yeah. I was there. That day is burned into my psyche forever. I get really uneasy when I hear jet engines whine and have residual lung problems from all the crap I sucked in down in the tunnels.

Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you sharing your experiences and feelings on that event. Hearing from others is one of the ways I deal with my own demons.

My experiences are trivial compare to folks like you that were there. I recently heard that some people have fallen ill from the exposure to the dust. Hope your lungs issues are minimal and clear up.

Are you now out here in CA? Though I saw that in your profile. I am in northern CA.

Yeah, I'm in Socal. Anaheim, the land of Mickey and Donald. Lived in NY for 3 years. Was back there on vacation for 9/11. Talk about timing right?

My lung issues are nothing compared to the relief workers who spent days in that filth.

I appreciate you kind thoughts. Where in Norcal are you?

Just outside of SF. Moved out here from Washington, DC a few years ago. Love the CA weather.

Don't think I could ever return to the east coast now.

It means a lot to me.

Artistically, the photo isn't all that great, but the emotion behind it, and the moment it captured is what makes it special to me. Thanks for commenting!

Wooooow that's crazy. Did you see in the news recently that they're making all of the NYFD take down their pictures of their fallen friends from 9/11 from their lockers? It's utter BS.

I heard about that. 9/11 was an event that change New York and New Yorkers forever. People should be allowed to embrace that, or express that in any way they choose. Especially the firefighters who lost so many brothers on that day. Forcing them to "forget" those they lost. Complete crap!

i can understand why they aren't allowed to hang pictures of the fallen friends, its because something like this not only killed the people in the towers and around ground zero, but the hearts of the people who lived there, and putting up pictures of their friends who were in the service(s) only repeats that same guilty feeling that they were taken away by a selfish evil. but tbh i don't agree to being told to take them down

That's my feeling. I don't agree that they should be told to take it down. If that is how these service men want to honor their fallen brothers, than they should be allowed to.

Agreed, i can't say i know a great deal about New York and ground zero and all, but is there like a large memorial for all the people who were killed that day? like civilians and service men and women?
