Description
35 x 24 inches canvasTechnique: Acrylic paper painted with colors splashed , randomnly mixed (wet in wet) using brush and palette knife. After drying tear the paper into pieces (can also cut with neat edges). Then Stuck on the canvas with the background painted followed by brush and pallete knife to integrate the painting as a whole.
EDIT: Oh my god a DD!! I didnt expect this at all !!

I love the striping and mottling of colour and the spare triangular and square forms. It's a great painting, full stop.

Thanks! Painting the piece that was going to be torn up was a very spontaneous process. I think I tried everything from dripping paint to splattering to structures and when I tore it up and put it on this bigger piece it just gave this effect.

although this is interesting, i don't sort of think its DD material. I think there might be some better stuff in your gallery that would be more deserving of one, but its a strange world.

Yes you must try it! It's extremely fun and really spontaneous. Especially the part where you paint the paper that you need to tear up later. Since you know you are going to tear it eventually you really don't care as to what you do on that paper and I think that freedom is amazing!

Yeah, that kind of freedom sounds really rewarding. I often start over-thinking when I'm in the middle of a painting and I sort of get stuck, but I think this technique could be a good way to prevent that.
