Description

Other aliens that live in the same universe as Space Clowns and Outer Mimes.

The Star Magicians were a very prominent race until very recently. Possessing technology at a level so advanced it was analogous to magic, they were the highest ranking civilization by default. Despite this they believed in non-interference, aside from keeping the Space Clowns and Outer Mimes in check, they did not spread much father that their home solar system. This is what lead to their downfall, as a member of their race, the infamous Confoundo, made himself, a sizable chunk of their population and their homeworld disappear as his final performance. The only remaining Star Magicians are those who were off planet at the time, and what was once a proud race is now reduced to a nomadic lifestyle, protecting relics of their civilization and hiding from marauders.

The Escape Angels, much like the Outer Mimes, appeared in our universe from another dimension that they extricated themselves from. Masters of escapology, they unlock latches and slip out of chains as a form of honoring something, whether an actual entity or a vague benevolent force or a lifestyle, it’s unclear. In their eyes, the more challenging the restraints/perils they elude the better. Their current goal is to find a way to escape our universe into whatever lies beyond.

The Control Organs might have been an organic race as some point, but currently they’re mostly machinery. Long ago they abandoned manual labor, deciding to utilize their advanced tech to harness the abilities of the Orbital Apes, natives of the many jungle moons of Kebos. With high levels of dexterity and endurance, the Controllers consider them ‘valuable service organisms’. Other races think the Controllers are a bunch of lazy robots with questionable ethics.

The Animated Statues travel through space without ships, landing on planets like meteors. Their natural form is similar to a rectangular prism of marble (or granite or copper or gold, etc), but they have the ability to change their shape as a form of camouflage. Most commonly blending in by imitating the form of the inhabitants, they remain immobile, resting, hibernating, or possibly meditating for decades at a time. It is commonly believed that they can’t move while being observed, but this is false; severely annoy or endanger one of these aliens and they won’t hesitate to punch you in the gut or face. Due to their mineral composition, they are one of the few races immune to being converted into a Space Clown or Outer Mime.

Can star magicians convert humans? And if so, how? Can they hybridize with mimes or clowns? Can the equivalent of a skomorph be produced by simultaneous conversion into a star magician and a mime or clown, or all three? Sorry for the question blurb, but I MUST KNOW.

Star Magicians were never interested in converting other species into more magicians. A person may be able to utilize their tech (making it work in non-Star Magician hands is difficult), but there's no DNA rewriting involved.

(They could theoretically turn someone into a magician using magic, but this would be unprecedented)

A Star Magician can become be converted into both Space Clowns and Outer Mimes. A Space Clown derived from a magician is known as a Joker, while I don't really have a name for what an Outer Mime magician is called. A Knight?

While mass conversion into Star Magicians was never a thing, a magician can still become a Skomorph, most definitely with strange magic powers.

Also here's a bit more info about Star Magicians I put on tumblr.

See, I was thinking about magicians being a third party in this canon; I would have been happy with just them, but I really like the others you made too! Nice One

By The Way, Is there anything an escape angel has difficulty with, or can they break into and/or out of anything?

Thanks!

Escape Angels are pretty susceptible to persuasion; you could convince an Escape Angel that a house they're inside was a trap if you use the correct wording.

Also they tend to over-think traps sometimes. Those 'Chinese finger traps' can stump them, sometimes.
