Actually, I rather like how you colored the black. I can't ever seem to color it digitally that well, which is probably why I don't. Here's something I found helpful when I was coloring [this guy's] hair (I mixed dark blue with dark gray, then added a silvery gray for the highlights, but it's still not done :/). If you mix dark blues with blacks and grays, then you'll probably get some better hues for black. Also, light grays and white aren't bad choices for experimenting with for lighter shades to the black. Hope it helps
I think the guy in the black hoodie doesn't trust the peppy guy's hand. It looks as if he's staring at it with suspicion 0.0, lol. I love the peppy guy's outfit, it's really great and seems to suit his upbeat personality. Bright colors, ftw. The blond guy's hair is just chock full of win, because you actually made the hair LOOK blonde instead of that weird yellow-y color that I've seen a few times. And I like his shirt too ^^ The lineart is somewhat thin, but it looks good. You've done a really great job with the skintone, I envy that, because I can't ever seem to do that when I color. What kind of colors do you use to color skin? (looks to me like you may have added dark browns and purples to the skin).
Overall, really great picture so far! I think it's really cool!

Yeah, black will just have to be a never-ending fight with me. I love the way black with a colored hue looks with traditional media... I know there's a way to translate it. O_< *determined* XD
The lineart is way too thin for my taste, but it's the first time I tried inking something entirely digitally. So I take it as a learning experience. With the skin I start with a light orange, and work darker by adding- you guessed it, purple, and dark brown, and a lot in the magenta range... I like magenta. XD Not necessarily in this pic, but I like adding magenta hues a lot. (and I know what you mean about the blonde guy. D< I hate it when people use lemon for a hair color. Pisses me off.... )
I think the emo kid just overall doesn't trust being dragged out in the middle of an abandoned field with two kids who have the serious hots for him. >D
