Description: Velore is a large male, very bulky but muscular throughout. His mane is long-haired and he has tufts at his elbows. He has a dark tan body and light tan underfur, with various dark green markings all over his body. The markings on the majority of his body are very unusual for his species; most members of his species only have those marks if they are meant to be leaders of the pride, and they are always white. The markings on his face and tail are uncommon to leader types, but seen often in the commoners.

Personality: Velore, for the most part, keeps to himself. When he is approached, he will generally be polite, though his tone may appear uninterested. His is very straight to the point and does not bother with talking around a subject; if he has an opinion, he will say it. He respects those who stand for what they believe in. After meeting Delay, he appeared to soften somewhat and is not as quick to judge others. He is proud but not a show-off. Velore tries to keep himself held together, but can occasionally fly off the handle if something angers him enough. If angered enough, he will enter a stage of near blind fury, often being unable to control himself. In this stage, his eyes go completely white. He does his best to not let this happen often. On a good day, you might be able to catch him smirk now and then. He feels most comfortable around Delay and will generally smile more around her.

History: Velore was somewhat of a surprise to his pride. The forest lions are known to place a lot of importance on their markings--those born with white vine markings are destined to be leaders, and those with common green markings are hunters. That is the way it always was. That was until his father, the leader of his pride, fell in love with a commoner lioness. Behind his queen's back, the couple produced one cub--Velore. The pride was confused and angered by the cub's markings. They were the vine markings of a leader, but green like a commoner. The word had gotten out. Though many members of the pride had wanted to kill the bastard cub, his father believed in the cub and wanted him to prove to the pride that he could be a leader, despite the color of his markings. As he grew, Velore tried his hardest to keep up with his father. Though he had the strength and determination, there was a problem--the high power mode. All leader lions had this mode, where they could increase all of their abilities for a short period of time and became basically fighting machines--though they were able to focus and keep themselves in control. They could activate it at any time. Velore struggled to activate his power mode, and when he did, he could not control what he did. He and his father tried for many years to work on this, but it never got any easier for the lion.
Velore left of his own volition; he knew he could not make a proper leader for his pride. Few were sad to see him go. It was not long after that he found Carpe Diem. Though he hadn't planned to stay along, he found himself admiring the strength and wisdom of the pride leader, Delay. Soon, it became more than admiration; the lion had fallen for his leader. He tried to keep his feelings hidden, as he figured he had little to no chance with the lioness. But in an intense moment where Delay had attacked Velore, he admitted his feelings and would've allowed her to kill him. This stopped the lioness, and not long after, the lioness admitted she had feelings for Velore as well. Amazed, Velore swore his life to her and has continued to be by her side since that day.
