About 7 hours and 15 minutes to complete from start to finish (and some time in there I had to clean up a spill from my pencil sharpener..

Awesome drawing but do you scan your drawings after completing or what? Since my scanner doesn't pick of the color well. Is there a certain setting that you use?

I do scan my drawings. This one was a photo of it, however, my scanner wasn't working for some reason when I drew this and I wanted to get it in the mail so I just photographed it.
My scanner is amazing though... it has all kinds of settings for colors and different resolutions. *so much love*
I didn't know that about it at first either.. it wasn't til after my computer crashed and I reinstalled the drivers that I found all the awesome settings I hadn't known about before. Makes me wonder if other scanners out there I've used actually have good settings like that too....

Ok thanks. I photograph my drawings but the quality is terrible when I do. I have Cannon 12.1 megapixels, what kind do you have?

It's a cannon G12. I love it, but it is very hard to photograph my pictures with it. I never feel like I can get it right when I do.

That looks fabulous. How do you make the paper like, white. *weird question* When I photograph I get part of my shadow in, also, the paper comes out grayish like in the corner of yours, but that's what the whole picture looks like on mine. Yours is really good.

Thanks. I first try to get the lighting the best I can, and then I touch up the photo with a photo editor to get the paper to look more white. *shrugs* Sometimes it works better than others.

I don't have any magical advice, although I wish I did. Basically, I just keep looking at pictures or looking at real life animals and keep trying to draw what I see. It can be frustrating sometimes, as I can't always get things to come out how they really look, but I surprise myself every now and again when I look back and see how much better I am doing. I could do a walk-through, next time I sit down and work on one of my dog portraits, if anyone is interested in seeing how I do things...
Also, I disagree with you. You're not bad at drawing at all! I love the drawing of Blitz in your gallery. The pose and proportions are very nice.

I've lived all over the US. Currently I'm near the Chesapeake Bay, which is why I have so many pictures of dogs playing in the bay.
