In Band 2, "Der Lebensfunke", erklärt Eight sich dem Rat der Ersten, den fünf erfahrensten Amnii, die ihr ungewöhnliches Verhalten interessant finden und ihr eine unerwartete Chance geben, ihre Forschungen fortzuführen. Damit ändert sich Eights Leben drastisch.

In vol. 2, "The Spark of Life", Eight is explaining herself to the five highest-ranking Amnii, who find her unusual behaviour interesting and offer her an unexpected chance to continue with her explorations. This changes Eights life dramatically.
