By the way, I was reading out there that Jaredites story are very similar to Olmecs one? Some historical facts found by researchers lead to this, so as time passes by, more and more evidences endorse the veracity of Book of Mormon stories ^^
Even so, scientific community doesn't want to accept the evidences.

In the Book of Mormon, it talks about great monsters of the deep not being able to harm the barges. This is a good depiction of just what creatures lurked beneath the barges, yet like the lions in Daniel and the lions' den they were not able to devour Jared and the others!
