Great faerie-eye view. And good bear/moose advice to boot.

Coincidently, the same day I posted that pic/advice, I read on the Comcast
news that a group of 6 hikers in the woods of New Jersey (I believe ~ didn't know
they even HAD woods in New Jersey) were met by a black bear. They all RAN. The
bear chose one to chase, caught up with him, and killed him. If only they had read
my advice! THANKS so much for the great comment, and for writing to me!!!!
Regards: Richard

Coincidently, I just heard on the internet news of one of six hikers ~ I believe in New Jersey ~ who was
mauled to death by a black bear. Too bad they could not have read my advice above. They ALL RAN....and the
bear simply picked out one, and caught him. I'm pretty sure you're not doing much hiking in bear territory
Trish (nor do I)...so I'll not worry for you. But, you all stand advised!
Thanks for writing...so nice to hear from you...

No ....The things that kill you here are bike riders...Since the tour de France Β bikes came through the uk earlier this year There has been a massive surge of people on bikes........Everywhere you go!!!==============

I am especially cautious on the walk path (asphalt) that runs around
Staring Lake. YOU are so right...people have been killed by being hit by
a too-fast moving bike. So sad...If I ride my bike around the lake I go at a snail's
pace around people, esp as many are walking (and pooping!) their dogs
on long leashes. The speed of the Tour de France racing must be incredible.
Let's stay away from them...ok?
