Just a quick drawing of Maud Pie from last week's MLP episode.
I absolutely loved her. I was really getting a Mai (from The Last Airbender) vibe from her throughout the episode but I don't mean that in a bad way. In fact, I liked how that made her stand out compared to the usually cheerful cast.

Judging by the foliation, it would appear Maud is holding marble, which is a metamorphic rock forged deep in the Earth's mantle. Damnit Maud, get it right!

You nailed Maud Pie so well and for me, she reminds me of three characters: Arnie from Hey Arnold, Raven from Teen Titans and yes... Daria.

She used to appear in Beavis & Butthead before having her own spinoff series that lasted from 1997-2002. Daria was voiced by Tracy Grandstaff.

After 4 seasons of everypony being over the top and overly enthusiastic, it was a nice change of pace to have a character be completely deadpan the entire time.
I was really happy that the Mane 6 admitted that she didn't really click with them (very realistic, no matter what common interests) and how she remained deadpan to the end with only a little satisfied smile instead of going all Pinkie-esque over the top.Β
