A thing I've noticed - cartoon skunks tend to look like cats. But it's kind of disappointing, in my humble opinion. Skunks aren't cats - and there's so much one can do with a skunk's design. Skunks are skunks, and they're better at being skunks than whatever other creature is. They're my favourite animals.Also, might just write and draw a little children's book about skunks, since they don't usually get a good reputation from most kids' media I see...

I definitely wanna illustrate a little kids' book about a bunch of skunks someday. But I already have so many ideas for stories, I dunno if it'll ever happen.

"Polecat" used to be a common word for skunks in the US (especially in the South), but not only are they not related to the polecat proper (the European Polecat, the only member of the Mustela family referred to as such), they live thousands of miles away from actual polecats. You would think Black-footed Ferrets would be called "American Polecats", but they aren't.

These are cute drawings! I especially like the poses of the upper right and lower right skunks.
But yeah; thanks to the media, I've long had the notion that skunks=smelly=stay away from at all costs. And until recently, I'd never wavered from that perception; never given them a chance for redemption. Then when I met you, and read what you've had to say about skunks, it made me revisit the little animals and realize that they're not as bad as society has them out to be...they can even make good pets!
I'm probably still one to see a cartoon skunk drawn cat-like and not think twice about it, but hey, I'm learning.

I agree that people should try to make skunks look like actual skunks. Very few of them actually even bother to do so.

Totally. Already got the general idea for a story - seven skunks living in a forest that have silly little adventures. Their names all start with the letter S. A lot of alliteration and rhyming happens as well, because I've always been a fan of that heh.
