She says, 'I'm furry!' with the ease of a child.He says 'I'm kin with the beasts of the wild.'
They say 'We're kin of a particular kind,
And there is division in the back of their minds.
I?
I say, 'Embrace me!' as I make my own way,
And I think that inspite of what all 'they' might say,
There is more to bind us than there is to divide,
For we all hear the whisper of the Nature inside.

i totally agree and always have!! i don't see what the problems are. we are all a part of something that is not understood by many and arguing among each other just lessens what good we stand for x

Ah... a wonderful message about tolerance and commonality where only differences are usually percieved. I love this poem. Thank you for writing it. Its message is true, and is something that needs to be said and heard.

Otherkin, Furry, Were...Who cares? WE are all the same! I'm a furry, and I'm otherkin, and I know a furry who is not otherkin, and I know an otherkin who is not furry, but guess what? WE all are hated and misunderstood the same! It does not matter if you are a vamp, ferret, or an intergalactic Spot-Birg, we are really of the same blood and spirit, even if that spirit seems a bit strange at times...

I too hate when inspiration strikes at odd moments... I usually lose it. I dream up the coolest poems and music... and they're always gone by the time I am awake enough to write them down.
And I completely agree with the sentiment. I don't know that I am truly otherkin... but I know I identify with them... *shrug*

I like your poem a lot. I too identify with animals but I don't particularly identify with one thing or the other. I don't see what all the fuss is about whether I am a furry or otherkin or whatever. I am what I am.

I agree wholeheartedly with you. I personally have never gotten any flak for being a furry, but I've heard some pretty gruesome horror stories...

I don't even know what to identify as these days, because while I do identify on a somewhat spiritual level with animals in ways that would make me think I COULD identify as otherkin (because the identifications with gryphons)... I'm also still way into the anthro thing. I guess that's where I came up with the transition to the first person.
