Just before I mailed that, my ason asked what I was typing and I told him. He looked at me and said "Thats going to get you sued." What that says about American culture is for others to say, for me it means "sharp kid"

>u sound real proud of ur son...

I cant even say how proud I am to see him growing into a fine human- its indescribable.

> i wonder wat my dad ever thot everytime i asked him a challengin question...>

Cant speak for him but when Aidian ask them of me, I think for a split second a whole being "yeah, right on!" and then think about the answer.

>ill try and save ur ass

An international lawyer on my side YES!! Know anyone who'd want to marry me for love [read: citizenship]?

Meaning: when my son asks me a challenging question I feel a huge swell of pride but immediately put it to the side so that I can answer his challenging question.

how old is your son? ( my memory seems to be failing me)

No. It varies man to man. I'd say that many of them dont like challenges but those that do are delighted when they come from their child.

My son just turned 10 "Double digit midget" as he hates to hear me say

Looks like a perons looking out from a window into the universe yonder, not sure about that finger but...

Its humbling isn't it ? We are all made of star dust, and one day we will again be star dust, and in a time long past the end of our days, a star will be born again, and the very quarks we are made off will be sent on another epic journey across the incomprehensible void of space, to be born again, with a mind, or with out.

Yet before all that happens, the atoms will take life once more, in my body are the atoms of my ancestors, atoms of rocks and mountains, of beings that vanished with out trace. Some say we all have part of God inside us all.

One day, I hope to uncover the mystry that binds our minds to flesh

See, thats why I want to major in astrophysics!

-as well as empowering. Every breath is filled with an antiquity that dates back to 0:00am. Every time you look at the stars not only are you seeing 1000's of years into the past but the very photons predate those stars existance. We are solidly a part of this universe, like water into water.

ther's a sun in the childs forhead.

revscrj In reply to LordOfSenses [2004-07-26 07:27:04 +0000 UTC]

More precisely: there's a sun in my son's head.

Yes.
Every atom that exists was once a part of the sun as the sun was once part of a nebula as the nebula was once part of the distribution of matter from the singularity where all things were one.

We may yet evolve into beings of unrestrained energy, liberated from our bodies by some future technology- coded electromagnetic fields or expressions of will upon the movements of thousands of machines networked together, perhaps trancendence into the quantum fields- whatever, point being: from the stars we came, unto the stars we stride. (provided we dont commit specieal suicide first)

ahh, but what if we free our minds from our bodies by removing our brains and placing them in tiny jars, not letting them coagulate, but instead poking them, with a stick.

LordOfSenses In reply to LordOfSenses [2004-07-28 03:16:14 +0000 UTC]

ok, fine, no stick, but still, seperation of body and mind is an essential!

revscrj In reply to LordOfSenses [2004-07-28 02:46:43 +0000 UTC]

Aside from the stick I'd say that in that case imagined reality is as good as reality to the brain in the jar.

OR:
How do you know thats not already the case? (again: minus the stick)

Hmm...
I suppose that fits perfectly in accord with concept- allthough *that* wasnt the route I was envisioning us making it to the stars by I suppose its 6 of one 1/2 a dozen of another as far as the universe is concerned.
