Ahhh I'm working on realism! See! I'll get there, eventually. Probably about 3 hours in Corel Painter..yes i know the chin is strange

Very nice work, the proportions in the face are good and and the different textures in the hair give it a more realistic effect. The use of light and shadow help to give the face form and structure, and altogether make it look more realistic. My only suggestions would be to add more dark tones to the face, hair and eyes to give depth to the drawing; to make the eyes stand out more by adding more green tones, highlights and shadows; and to correct the nose by fixing the proportions a little and use more shadows. All in all good work and only a few ajustments need to be made. Well done!

You're right, my biggest challenge has always been to push the darks in the portraits I do..I worry too much about shade transition when I just need to put that color down on the page! I will definitely work on this. And you're right about the nose as well...
