Description
One of a series of busts that I sculpted several years ago.My take on the older more traditional image of the Vampire rather than the beautifull sensual ones we are always seeing in popular culture today .... my vampire is a blood engorged, stinking, dirty, reanimated corpse!

great work on all of your sculptures, how do you make the eyes so shiny? do you have any tips for painting? I'm always scared to paint my sculptures because I feel i'll ruin them, and the paint is hardly ever the color or brightness I thought it would be at the start

For the eyes I just use an acrylic gloss varnish bought from an artist supply shop. I usually give them about three coats to build up the glossy look. I paint them by laying down a good strong base colour first and then adding washes over the top until I'm happy with it.

This is an excellent sculpture!
But the creepy factor is really high, and I can't look at him for long.

I'm not saying it isn't good...it's excellent!!
I've just always (since I was a kid) been scared of
vampires and the like (my Mom used to watch the old
Dark Shadows series when I was young). 
day, I have a hard time seeing anything scarey...abhorring
monster/horror movies.
