She does, actually! c: But at first I thought of her as a monk though, probably because of her exposed legs and the warm colors (I've associated bright red and yellow with the chantry now haha don't mind me) does she have a name yet? ovo

At the time, I was just trying out a tutorial and googled up a random concept art outfit to imitate (far right)-->Β 37.media.tumblr.com/3cd78b51e3β¦
Buuuuuuuut if I ever go through with making a DA comic, that would mean she is technically Hawke? It would be a crazy plot tweest. XD Β But I'm kind of weak when it comes to creating a properly structured narrative like that, and I'm afraid that by the time I really got into it, DAIII would take the spotlight (even moreso than now haha).
It would have most of the same cast from DAII (and none would have abnormal fangirl-induced changes *coughcullencough*), but it would follow a big "what if" scenario. There would be one big change (the aforementioned plot tweest) at the very beginning, but the rest of the comic would follow the ripple effects.

Ah okay! I didn't know this was a Hawke you were planning for a comic! Or did you mean this would be a different protagonist altogether? I'm confused, sorry ;;;v;;
But what you've said about this project sounds rad and comics w alternate storylines in general excite me, I think you should give it a go! c: It'll be a long while until DA:I comes out, and even after that I think the new game will draw people back to look at Dragon Age art again, including stuff for the earlier games. So don't be afraid friend I believe in you

lololol i like this song. now i wanna ride a bike. XD
Sorry for crazy long paragraphs. I feel like explaining it properly is spoilers but oh well. SPOILERS AHOY!
So, it's a "what if" scenario where Hawke doesn't catch up to her family in time to get them out of Lothering. Hawke would then go through a storyline therefore where she ISN'T working to help her family.
...BUT WAIT! THAT'S A FAKE OUT!
Even though the readers would be told it's Hawke, the twist is that they are lead to believe she's the champ!Hawke. She never says what her first name is. In reality, Mom!Hawke and champion!Hawke died in Lothering (separately, but definitely dead), Carter was dragged away by darkspawn until he was rescued by templars (he'd become an antagonist later, probably), and Bethany Hawke barely survives to go on to Kirkwall. My thought process is that she would feel so guilty about the ordeal (because she thinks everyone else is dead too), that she tries to live life as though she is champ!Hawke instead of Bethany Hawke. Kind of like, "hey you died for me so i'll live your life for you".
And of course there would be shenanigans, and Carter would probably dramatically come back and be all like "WTF who are you my older sibling died." If I went through with it I might make the real Hawke male and a non-mage for extra dramatic purposes. Also Carter is a twerp and I'll probably murderize him.
Annnd that's where it starts to kind of falter, I'm not sure exactly why Bethany would go to Kirkwall without mom!hawke to point them there. I kind of thought she might dive into the underworld as an assassin and/or smuggler, but yeah it's kind of fuzzy.

Interesting.. I like the dark turn this takes, and now I just want to see it happen in a comic even more omgΒ
I think you can probably solve the kirkwall problem XD by keeping leandra alive a bit longer after being attacked by darkspawn (I can see bethany wiping them out but being too late to save mom, who got fatally injured?) and give her enough time to say 'i love you' and tell beth to go to kirkwall and get help from gamlen?Β
I'm kinda sad about Carver though.. yeah he was a whiny little prick but he gave me some sibling feels, especially in the legacy dlc ;;v;; it'd be kinda sad seeing him get murderized (kind of in a shaking-my-head, 'goddammit carver' kind of way lol)

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmm yeah okay he was a BIT better when he went off to do... stuff. Elsewhere. Far far away. XD
I guess I could pull a Redemption Equals Death for Carter. Make Orsino and/or Meredith even more manipulative asswipe-ish and cast them as even worse antagonists. Hmm. I've actually kind of toyed around with the idea of making Varric an accidental villain. I think he could be a kind of anti-hero if I worked it right.
But I mean think about it, who is the ONLY MAIN CHARACTER that actually ends up better off? Varric's filthy rich from the expedition, and the only real threat to his business dealings (his asshole brother that he no longer loves due to his betrayal) is dead/insane/so traumatized he can't run a cohesive venture. Not to mention there is no other legitimate heir to any ancestral holdings once his brother is out of the way. He's also on first-name basis with the most politically powerful public figure in the city (who is also the only one that survives long-term), without the risk of assassination/eviction/persecution (and if you read the comics, he later ends up with King Alistair as well). Further, he also seems to have a decidedly firm grip on several information networks, smuggling rings, and black markets the Dwarven Merchant's Guild.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT! XD
and clearly i've thought to hard about this haha
