This is my contest entry for the charity art book created by:

When I discovered this group, I was really interested by their aim: Making an art book which profits raised to a cancer charity which supports children and young people with cancer and their family.
Recently I did a Blood Donation as volunteer. I was always scared to give my blood as I don’t really like the view of blood. But I finally did it, because maybe with my blood will be able to save someone. This is an action which I've always wanted to do since High School (but well, I was not legally an adult and even after my parents did not improved my choice haha.)
In brief, this act made me realize that I can help people with simple things. Making an artwork in order to make children smile and feel better motivates me. I love drawing. For me, drawing can express many things. And show it in a charity form is one of the best ways. I hope if my drawing is chosen, it will make smile and give hope, support to the cancer victims and their families.

About the drawing:
I wanted to draw something warm-hearted, family affection, summer, with warm colours. As Earth theme, I had some difficulties to imagine. I'm not used to draw something related to nature. So it was like a challenge for me. I was thinking to create a new OC, but two of my Ocs are appropriate to my requirements. Oranges represents earth, freshness, sweet and also summer.
Both of the characters here are my Ocs: .
- The 8-year-old boy is Shin Naka. I already drew him at a more advanced age a few years ago: Nephew and Uncle . Yes, he is the teenager from my old drawing! And I know that he looks like Etsuji as child.
- Ritsuko Naka, she is Etsuji’s mother and Shin’s big sister. As you can see her large dress at her belly, Ritsuko is pregnant with her son.
I never introduced Ritsuko before, because she is one of my most important and cherished character. So I wanted to keep in secret before showing her. Actually, she also has a story about her life before getting pregnant.
Ritsuko and Shin share a deep siblings bond. Ritsuko was eleven when her brother born, so she cares a lot for her brother. Their parents cultivate Orange trees in Okinawa.
