Description
My part of the Castlevania series tribute forObviously I decided to go retro and after some thinking I went for Castlevania III 'Dracula's Curse'.
I knew I wanted to do a boss battle and I love the Cyclops with his giant hammer. After several failed shading attempts this is what I came up with. I hope it looks even slightly good enough to fit in with the project.
I tried staying as true as possible to the original NES game's colour sprites and level design of the enemy and I am quite happy with the result in that aspect.

The Cyclops does look pretty intimidating all thanks to the proper lighting and strategic placement of that thunder strike.
I like how unimpressed 2D Belmont is.

Love the expression on Trevor's face! Sort of a "Ah hell, this could take some doing" expression.

I'm tryin hard to get better with expressions. Even though I do like how this work turned out something about it just yells "This could've been so much better!" to me.

This is great! But the Cyclops wasn't that big. For a moment there I thought this was a Lords of Shadow tribute image cuz of how huge some of the bosses are (the titans). I also like the look on Trevor's face. But you know what I would have changed though? Instead of the blue statue, I would have gone with a frozen Sypha cuz she was being held by the cyclops.

Thx dude. I made it so big on purpose to make him look more imposing. (In the beginning Trevor was even smaller than he is now XD ) I could've done the frozen Sypha but then there would've been too many separate elements and it would've taken the attention of the 2 main characters so I decided to go with one of the statues from the levels and even keep that one very simple.

Oh so that's why you did it that way. Cool! I bet that even if the Cyclops had been even bigger, Trevor would have still fought him. He's my fave Belmont, no question!
