Description

This is an entry into the CSS part of the "Customise Us Contest " at *wesurvived . Check it and spread word if you can, or enter yourself, or donate prizes etc. The prizes are generous and there are several categories to enter into, and it's a cause worth getting involved in.

Should we win, we refuse to accept any of the prizes. We would rather the prizes go back to the prize donators who can find some another use to put them too. We are mainly entering to raise awareness hopefully.

— Technical info
All stock from our gallery or from the private stock collections of our members. For example [link] and [link] .

This is not yet coded but we can offer assistance in coding the more complex parts of it if the volunteer coder needs help. The header image should transition to an expanding seamless gradient but also be wide enough fit most screens, while the image itself is fixed size in practical usage the header is expansive. The menu should fluidly affix to the right edge with transparent gfx so it can expand over the header. The feature and icon areas should use advanced css tables as seen at [link] for example. Scroll boxes are not shown here but are easy to add.

By the way in case you where confused: this is not stock and is not meant for reuse by anyone besides *wesurvived .

Thanks I was trying hard not to make anything too heavy, and to be bright but not too bright.

Your stock should be uploaded later today if everything goes to plan btw,

love how you added the duplicate links at the top and bottom. some clucb journals can be really long. Nice touch.

Hm, is that cursor part of the CSS or was it just added to show hovered links? Because it doesn't really fit- imo.

Nonetheless i like the soothing colors, creates a nice calm, relaxed atmosphere... something all those people might wish for
And that support us thingie is a nice idea

It's only there to show hover color, yes.

Thanks

You already know the design is great.

But what really stands out is the tree and I loved that small detail of the 7 flowers in bloom.

Its also in a sort of pyramidal form, like the recovery comes from below to above and the flowers are in the last 2/3rds of it.

I'm eager to see what that comunity will offer.

Cool man well read, that was pretty much the feeling I was going for with the tree. Despite the autumnal colors. The flowers are an important part even though they are small

Thanks. We would have used the header's look in the whole design but the call was for clean looking simple entries

cl0uder [2008-07-19 03:39:03 +0000 UTC]

I like the design, layout, and features but the Header font choice doesn't work for me. For people who have gone through such an ordeal and survived are strong individuals or atleast would like to be perceived so. I suggest semi-bold or bold to add some strength to the fragile looking font.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

resurgere In reply to cl0uder [2008-07-19 03:56:40 +0000 UTC]

The primary font is Terbuchet across the journal which was chosen for it's solidity for reasons similar to the ones you outlined. The occasional use of of the decorative font was to balance the harder font out with something a bit more positive, to try and build a more welcoming environment then bold fonts alone could make. Something abrasive and hard looking would not be apt as a platform to facilitate the sharing and moving forward and healing processes that the group will hopefully support. Hence it being 'retty' to be more welcoming, 'fragility' was not the goal...

The tree is based on art photography such as [link] & [link] extracted then painted and manipped. The colors are inspired by woodblock prints like Shiraishijima by Hiroshi Yoshida [1930].
