This ability allows the user to go into a comatose state when needed to regain their energy of the amount of hours they have been awake. An aspect of it is eating nightmares as they are able to dream jump into people’s dream worlds the moment they are asleep. The farthest location from the user is 1 mile but the first dream jump must be within 40 feet of the user and every jump after is within 50 feet. The user is automatically drawn to nightmares and cannot control this as of yet.

Part one: “Conscious / Comatose”

Advantages:

The user needs no ‘sleep’ in the common sense – The sleeping schedule is replaced by a ‘comatose state’.

The user can stay awake for two to three days without needing to go into this state.

No feeling of fatigue.

The user knows the ‘signs’ that their body shows to tell them that they need to ‘rest’ => Going into their ‘coma’.

Disadvantages:

The user cannot wake up from the comatose state by themselves or by outer influences.

The body becomes paralyzed and resembles REM.

The user wakes up only after their energy has been fully restored.

Part two: “Dream Jumping”

Advantages:

During the mentioned comatose state the user is able to ‘Dream Jump’.

Can visit other people’s dreams automatically.

Through eating nightmares, the amount of time the user has to stay in the comatose state can be drastically shortened.

The user can change their appearance in those dreams from their usual one and have influence on the dream itself.

For the user of the ability these nightmares seem as real as the actual reality. They are able to hear, touch, feel, smell, see anything as if they were currently awake.

User knows whose dream he had jump into if they have met the person before or meets them later.

Disadvantages:

The user is automatically drawn to nightmares and cannot control this.

If the dreamer becomes aware of the user in their dream, the ability-user will not be able to control or influence anything anymore and is a mere part of the dream.

Should the user experience pain in these dreams, the pain will be projected to their body. There will be no signs of injury but the pain will still be felt. If the user dies in a dream, they will become physically brain dead.

Some nightmares are too strong or too dangerous for the user to eat currently. If they try to anyways, they will suffer physical pain and/or get kicked out of the dream.

If a dreamer wakes up during the dream that the user is in, the user will either have to escape immediately which usually results in them being pulled back into their body or the subconscious of the dreamer will try to pull in the user’s mind. In this case the user will be in extreme mental pain (migraines, brain damage, etc) before their body pulls the mind back again.

Every time the user is pulled back to their body without meaning too, all energy gained from the nightmares will be lost.

This ability is passive. The user can put themselves into their comatose state on their own but cannot decide to just ‘sleep’

Desmond is a natural introvert. Prefering to read in a large group then be in a smaller group and talking to the people in it. Desmond is not very good with social interactions in because of his lack of understanding ENGLISH puns, jokes, idioms and prefering to communicate over the computer or other digital device (such as texting on a phone).
He tends not to talk much at all to people he does not know or that are very fluent english speakers. More then willing to help any who wants it or just listen to what they have to say. Desmond does listen intently and always cares that people would actually like to talk to him outside of just asking for computer repairs.
He is a very hard person to make mad and tends not to hold grudges agianst people. The only time he will try to avoid people or make himself unavaliable to social calls in the library is when people have made fun of him or told him specifically not to come near them.

Desmond was born in Alexandria, Egypt to two marine archeologists. He was slightly premature at 31 weeks but only had to spend three weeks in the hospital before he could go home. During this time, his mother had become deeply consumed by axiety by the birth of this new child and stress from her job. She became distant to Desmond and even her husband and oldest child as she was diagnosed with depression. At the age of two, he had a viral throat infection. After a delay to get him to a proper doctor to diagnose the problem, he gets vocal cord paralysis of one vocal cord and has to get vocal therapy for his speech impairment. In the event of his speech disorder, Desmond was sent to special classes by his father while he got vocal therapy and not to be bullied by the other children in a normal school. Everyday his brother would walk him to school helped encourage him to make new friends.

When Desmond entered the Preparatory Stage of his schooling , his academic record showed that he should be in normal classes outside of the special education classes. The made the transistion but the sudden change in surroundings and increase of social interactions, Desmond became rather shy and unsure of talking during class discussions. His teachers suggested meeting up with the counselors of the school to check on his progression and find ways to be more comfortable in the larger class setting. The counselors recommended Desmond to get involved in a club or activity in school. They even suggested with his love of math and science that the computer/robotics club might be best.

This development helped him get to the last year of his basic education though he only made close friends with the people from the computer/robotics club. At this time in his life his world was filled to the brim of learning computers, taking advanced math, science, and computer classes to fill his ever growing need for more information on the subject and preparting for the national exam to get into his Secondary education school. He worked hard to balance that and still find time for his love of books and family while also being taken outside for swimming and other activities by his brother. This did not go unnoticed as his father and brother for Desmond’s 14th birthday they gave him a laptop and phone. Ofcourse, with all the chaos surrounding the internet, bloogers being arrested and the courts attempt to shut down the internet, Desmond's older brother put blocks on his younger brother's computer to try to protect him from getting in over his head or seeing things his brother should not see.

Happy times would end when Desmond’s father took him and his brother on a trip after Desmond had passed the Exam and gotten into the Technical school. When they were crossing the bridge into Cairo, Egypt, a giant sandstorm had blindsided his father ,who was driving. The car crashed into the railing on the side of the bridge.

Desmond woke up a week later in a hospital in Alexandria bandaged from the crash’s injuries. His father was injured and paralyzed indefinitely from the accident, but Desmond’s brother’s body was not found and window glass pointed to him hurtling through the windshield and into the river below.

After a few days later and getting told about the death of his brother, Desmond went into a coma.

During the time that Desmond was in a coma, his father finally talked to his wife about her depression and her not willing to deal with it but instead of focused on her work. His mother finally came clean to his father about her actions and how some of the work she had to do during family planned events was really a lie. She had tried going to therapy a few times but failed to follow through those times. Her husband told her she would have to try again cause he knew it would be hard in his condition and loss of his son and helping Desmond after he woke up would be hard for a single person. His mother consented because she did not want to lose her husband or the last child she had left to depression or her pride. The time that Desmond was in a coma, his mother went to therapy with her husband and by herself.

Three months past before Desmond woke up from a coma, screaming in pain, fear and agony. His father and nurses managed to calm him down. Desmond was still hurting but nothing was physically wrong with him. Doctors blamed the sudden behavior as PTSD and directed him to therapy

After another month, Desmond’s pain slowly went away but he now never really slept. He would work on his computer and try to ignore the memories of what he had seen in those three months. His father was now wheelchair bound for the time while his mother became the support for both her husband and child. She would set up the therapy meetings along with making up for the time of not properly being a mother to Desmond. The therapist listened to what Desmond had to say but nothing made sense in regards to the “sights” the boy had seen. The first therapist transferred Desmond to another therapist to try to solve the mental problems. Still no treatment or answer to what Desmond was talking about after he went to the specialist, and he was transfered over to a clinic in hopes the many Doctors would be of help.

Eventually one of the therapists in the clinic gave Desmond anti-anxiety medication and was allowed back to school but had to get weekly meetings in the clinic to judge his condition. He started communicating mostly through the computer to his few friends and his family after he was admitted to the technical education school for their three year program. No other problems rose other than Desmond's continued sleeping problem, they tried a variety of ways to get him to sleep but nothing worked. His parents did not want to push as Desmond was finally not as scared or anxious anymore but still watched carefully and kept track of his computer work to make sure he wasnt hiding some kind of depression or negative emotions.

In the second year of his secondary education, his friends finally introduced him to the world of hacking. At first it was only hacking each other's computers and trying to turn off the firewalls remotely. Desmond was quick to catch on though he perfered to make stronger firewalls and encryptions rather than hacking his friends computers and files. This went on for another year before his friends wanted to take it farther, seeing as no one got hurt so far with the hacking Desmond easily agreed. They were going to hackinto the schools database but did not succeed because one of the teachers found out and immediately stopped them. There was no charges pressed but a strict warning to both them and their parents not to let it happen again though this teacher was very very nice about that warning it could have been worse.

Desmond's parents were disappointed in his actions and talked it over with him about what could have happened by being peer pressured. Desmond apologized and was very sad he disappointed his papa and even his mother. He explained he liked working with computers and the hacking but perfered to make things that could not be hackable so nothing bad could happen to anyone's database. It was agreed that if Desmond finished his Technical education program that they would help him find a field of study that would support that idea.

When graduation came around, Desmond did indeed gradate but due to his actions in the hacking mishap he was not given honors nor allowed to presented the diploma on stage. A day after the graduation, Desmond would not wake up. He had fallen into another coma and would not wake up from it for a month. This event sent his parents into a frenzy to find someone why this had happened, no head trauma or any other kind seemed to show why he was suddenly in the coma. The clinic that had taken over Desmond's case called in a specialist that was actually from A-gents (in secret), he looked over the information shared by Desmond in the appointments and the medical information provided. Throughly interested, the undercover Agent Specialist took samples of Desmond's genetics to find if there was any mutated gene and waited for Desmond to wake up agian.

When Desmond woke up he had actually learned a bit more of what has been happening when he was in a coma. Figuring out he could change what he looked like when he was outside himself even to the point he realized he was in illusions or nightmares based on the fact that everyone agreed that he had not moved fromt he hopistal bed he had been placed in for the coma. Still he was in shock and fear of waht he has been doing. Talking with the specialist of what he saw and how he felt until the undercover agent deemed he knew what might be happening but going to talk to his superior first to make sure.

Dr. Jubel ,in investigating the specialist’s reviews, deemed that Desmond had an ability but the degree of it was unknown. Agents 01 and 07 took the information and went to talk to Desmond’s parents. They said that they were contacted by the specialist and that their program Desmond was eligible for their special secondary education for those with specific needs like Desmond.. Desmond’s father first declined because of Desmond would be so far away from him and he would not be able to visit Desmond if he needed him.The agents gave him ways to contact them if he changed his mind or if Desmond became old enough to choose for himself. A few monts later Desmond went into another small coma, only for two weeks but it had left a foul taste in his parents mouth. When Desmond woke up he had learned during his coma how to "eat" nightmares, even so he was even more scared of goig back to that world and had to get a higher dose of anti anxiety medication to deal with the revelation. By this time his mother and his father talked about the Agency “school” and how they were at the end of their ropee, Desmond neded help and apparently it wasnt going to be there. As such, they use the number that the Agents had left and agreed to Desmond being let to go to Agents under the condition he be allowed to return on family holidays and call/text/ video mesage back home.

The Agency still had not determined the extent of Desmond’s ability, and that left them partly in confusion which HQ would be best for him to learn more abut his ability and get use to the new setting. Jubel suggested HQ04 after looking though Desmond’s therapy files better, offering that a small more elusive HQ would be best for the new trainee. After three months,Desmond’s ability started to be fully understood because of Desmond going into the coma state more frequently and Dr.Jubel’s every two week visits. Seeing as the abiltiy was not harming anyone and Desmond's hacking and encryption was excelling well beyong what the HQ04 needed or could help advance they asked for a transfer of Desmond to the space HQ to learn more from the hackers there as he was still too new and needed more instruction on what a hacker and computer worker could do.

After a quick mental evaluation, Dr.Jubel cleared Desmond for working in the HQ 03. HQ03 was a very eye opening experience for Desmond, much more technology and more people to learn what he wanted. One month went by before Desmond entered into another coma, this time he was still getting use to what his ability actually was doing even if he has a slight panic attack when he went into the state in the first place. After he woke up he went back to work as usual, never bothering to worry aobut the gossip going around. Another week later he went into the state again, he woke up a few days later after eating his first nightmare but this time he was not welcomed back to work so nicely. Many people started to avoid him while hackers made him work only on the computer for instructions. He lived in this environment for a month longer before being "choosen" for a transfer once more to another HQ. The head of the HQ after 02 told Desmond that many of the agents there did not like him going into their nightmares and it was either the higher ranked agents or him that would transfer. Desmond was now better trained and gotten use to what the A-gents did and what was expected of him, with no further problems other than those expected from one who lives in nightmares for days at a time, he was given the transfer to HQ01.

When Desmond woke up he had learned during his coma how to "eat" nightmares, even so he was even more scared of goig back to that world and had to get a higher dose of anti anxiety medication to deal with the revelation. By this time his mother and his father talked about the Agency “school” and how they were at the end of their ropee, Desmond neded help and apparently it wasnt going to be there. As such, they use the number that the Agents had left and agreed to Desmond being let to go to Agents under the condition he be allowed to return on family holidays and call/text/ video mesage back home.

The Agency still had not determined the extent of Desmond’s ability, and that left them partly in confusion which HQ would be best for him to learn more abut his ability and get use to the new setting. Jubel suggested HQ04 after looking though Desmond’s therapy files better, offering that a small more elusive HQ would be best for the new trainee. After three months,Desmond’s ability started to be fully understood because of Desmond going into the coma state more frequently and Dr.Jubel’s every two week visits. Seeing as the abiltiy was not harming anyone and Desmond's hacking and encryption was excelling well beyong what the HQ04 needed or could help advance they asked for a transfer of Desmond to the space HQ to learn more from the hackers there as he was still too new and needed more instruction on what a hacker and computer worker could do.

After a quick mental evaluation, Dr.Jubel cleared Desmond for working in the HQ 03. HQ03 was a very eye opening experience for Desmond, much more technology and more people to learn what he wanted. One month went by before Desmond entered into another coma, this time he was still getting use to what his ability actually was doing even if he has a slight panic attack when he went into the state in the first place. After he woke up he went back to work as usual, never bothering to worry aobut the gossip going around. Another week later he went into the state again, he woke up a few days later after eating his first nightmare but this time he was not welcomed back to work so nicely. Many people started to avoid him while hackers made him work only on the computer for instructions. He lived in this environment for a month longer before being "choosen" for a transfer once more to another HQ. The head of the HQ after 02 told Desmond that many of the agents there did not like him going into their nightmares and it was either the higher ranked agents or him that would transfer. Desmond was now better trained and gotten use to what the A-gents did and what was expected of him, with no further problems other than those expected from one who lives in nightmares for days at a time, he was given the transfer to HQ01.
