Description Good morrow fellow deviants.
I, like much of the world, am looking forward to Halloween, a day dedicated to frightening the masses and not being arrested for disturbing the peace.
And so I figured I would give deviantart a preview of my Slender Man costume the day before.

Sorry its taken me so long to reply, I hate it when artists do that, but I haven't been on deviant art for a good number of months now so I never saw your question. I'm a bit old to be trick or treating (especially considering I'm male and could easily give off the wrong impression if I ran around at night in a mask, just not something I can get away with being 6'3). It was more of a daytime thing for my school, we all showed up in costumes. I wouldn't recommend it most of the time though, because it does frighten some people and if you wear it at a costume party people are likely to avoid you (not speaking from experience with the party, by all means give it a shot someday).

Nylon stockings. A black one underneath to obscure facial features and then a white one on top.

It took me a long time to find the mask. >_<
BTW I think stockings are better.. My mask has bumps around the edges. [link] (not me)

Thanks for the heads up. The funny part is that i didn't use a morphmask, they're advertising women's nylon as a morphsuit.

I know. I told you because I read the comments.

I'm being slenderman for this Halloween and the Stockings work good, but run to easily for me. >_<

Yeah but I feel like with the white mask your face features would show really well, or is the MorphMask thick enough to mask away most of the face?

A black nylon stocking underneath to obscure features and a white nylon stocking on top for the color.

awesome thanks

how well could you see out of it though?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rennocfatality In reply to Terradoll [2012-10-08 02:33:24 +0000 UTC]

I could see out of it pretty well, visibility is limited though.
I wear hard lens contacts so my main issue was putting on the nylon in a way where it doesn't press my contacts against my eyes. No worries if you wear contacts though, you get used to doing it in a non painfull way.
I'm not sure what visibility is like at night time though, since halloween falls on a school night and i haven't cosplayed slendy I've only wore the costume during the day.

We're using it for a scavenger hunt in the woods, 13 girls not knowing they're being followed by Slenderman.

But thanks so much!!

Where did you get the suit from?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rennocfatality In reply to FionnaAndCaake [2012-10-01 15:00:19 +0000 UTC]

It was a handmedown suit. Nothing expensive or fancy is necessary for a slendy costume, if you own any sort of black suit you should be fine, and if not don't go out of your way to buy a nice suit, try to find a cheap one that is still a nice solid black.

rennocfatality In reply to xrictos [2012-09-03 16:40:34 +0000 UTC]

I didn't cover my hands, just because the costume was hot enough without literally covering every single area of my body. I imagine you could use any old white gloves or something though.

Where'd you get the mask from? A link or something would be great

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rennocfatality In reply to Skytch [2012-09-03 16:39:22 +0000 UTC]

I went out and bought it at Target in person. It's womens nylon. A black one underneath to obscure features and a white one on top for the slendy color. I'd provide a link to something but i'm sure you meant if it was like a morphsuit mask or something, haha. Womens nylon can be bought at pretty much any department store, I'll leave which one you buy it from up to you.

Alright thanks! And considering I'm a guy I find this situation of me buying women's black and white nylon to be kinda weird lol. Thanks again for the info dude, hopefully these nylon masks are much cheaper than most nylon or white suits I've been seeing. I think the gloves is the last thing I really need, but I'm sure I can find some solid white gloves just fine in a department store. Other than that, I already have the suit, tie, and shoes, so I'm totally ready for this Halloween! :3

rennocfatality In reply to Skytch [2012-09-06 00:36:28 +0000 UTC]

No problem And don't worry, they're relatively cheap, and trying on women's nylon on your head in a department store gets you surprisingly less weird looks than you'd think you would get.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rennocfatality In reply to mgmt10 [2012-08-28 00:28:48 +0000 UTC]

It's two womens nylons. A black one underneath to obscure my features and a white one on top for the slendy feel. Since womens nylon are tpically pretty tight there was no issue having it stay on, the difficulty was getting it to sit just right on your head so that you: 1. Dont cut into your eyes with the nylon, and 2. Have your facial features satisfactorily obscured. You can see out of them pretty well because it creates one of those effects where you can see out of it but not in. Like when it's dark outside and theres a light through a window, you can see in through the window with light coming out of it, but it's harder for peoplein the lit room to see out into the dark.

superwaffle350 [2012-08-21 03:43:32 +0000 UTC]

Okay, here's what you do.

1.) Put on this costume.
2.) Walk into a department store
3.) Put you hands in your pockets and pose
4.) Just stand there.
5.) grab people as they walk by.

Usig closed toe womens stockings/nylon Using a black one underneath to first obscure your facial features, and then a white one on top for that slendy style.

hey there! That is a wonderful costume you came up with, I'm sure it was fun scaring everyone, yes? I'm interested in making a slender man costume for this years halloween too, but I'm a little stumped on what to exactly use. I'm looking into purchasing a whosuit for the body/face and a black blazer/tie with a white shirt. are there any trousers/shoes you can suggest? thank you! :3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rennocfatality In reply to ImaginaryHooves [2012-07-24 17:28:19 +0000 UTC]

Really any kind of trousers will do as long as they match your jacket or blazer. I just wore a basic suit. For shoes i suppose dress shoes would be ideal though not entirely comfortable to walk in all day if you plan on going to school wearing the costume or whatever it is you want to do it (of course wouldnt want to waste a sweet slendy costume only trick or treating, gotta wear it all day right?), I just wore a pair of shiny black newbalance sports shoes because they still looked dressy enough to go with the rest of the outfit and they were much more comfortable to wear than dress shoes since i did wear the costume to school all day. I would recommend against a full body whosuit though for your own comfort. Since I wore the costume to school I needed something with a detachable mask so i could take it off during classes, so I used closed foot womens nylons for the mask, a black one underneath to obscure facial details and a white one on top to get the slendy color. Another worry with the whosuit is that if you wear the whosuit underneath plus a regular suit on top, im sure you'll be burning up in that costume unless you live somewhere particularly cold. Hope this helped

I'm not sure on how to actually make a head cover with nylon or what type of nylon to use since so much of it comes up on ebay. England is always cold, it only really gets warm for a week in the summer

rennocfatality In reply to ImaginaryHooves [2012-07-25 17:34:09 +0000 UTC]

If you actually want to go for the nylon idea then you probably shouldnt buy online. You should grab a friend and go to a store where they sell such things in england. You'll be able to try on the nylon to make sure that it fits comfortably, which it wont (probably woont be comfortable) but you dont want it to be TOO tight upon your head. And you'll want your friend there to ensure that your features are indistinguishable enough.

It's actually, like, a lady's nylon stocking or something. So the effect is that you can see out but not in. Brethability was pretty good then.

rennocfatality In reply to embercoral [2012-03-15 01:47:57 +0000 UTC]

Not really. The main issue I had was putting it on in a way where the nylon isn't pressing against my eyeballs while they're open.
Wearing contacts made that a bit difficult.
