Great pic Patrick, though I have one question.
May sound amateur but how do you take a picture with the light in it so that the rest isn't darkened?
I've tried taking pics with the sun in and it usually turns out bad.
Any suggestions?

Thanks. All my shots of the sun are in the morning ... at or around sunrise. I just point and shoot, often on automatic. When the sun gets brighter I shoot at a faster exposure speed to get greater depth of field and tighter freeze on moving birds and waves. I'm not a technical expert, but I think the key is that the sun should be low in the sky if you're going to shoot into it. Good luck! ~Patrick
