Description I animated this straight ahead, so there might be lots of small errors here and there oops,, like the up-down movement on the torso definitely needes to be a bit more drastic during the walking I'd guess
Man I'm just so reliant on instinct in my normal art, I just can't stop wanting to get things right by intuition alone,, I'd say I'm quite happy that the transition from walkcycle to runcycle looks at least nice, even though I have no idea what I did

It's really too bad that there's a shortage of slow-motion videos featuring werewolves :c it'd be great for reference, but all you find are some doggos, bigcats and maybe even a bird or two. But you won't find any weremans or flying fire lizards on those educational channels *sigh*

Well as mentioned in the description, for animation, I use the free program called "Krita", but for everything else I use Photoshop elements.10 :> (that old version doesn't have any animation features)

Do you mind if I use this as a reference a bit? just for the proportions and how they work together while walking.

You can go right ahead :> If it's artwork you intend on posting, I always appreciate a shout-out<3

51 frames. . . Woaaahhhh!! This is really good!

I agree, there's not a lot of videos like this for werewolves. Not everyone loves them. Kinda sad. I'm very impressed with the transition from the walk to the running cycle! Looks like it was really hard and I'm sure it took a lot of patience.

Job well done! Keep it up!

Really late but what about using a bear as reference? They have a rather cumbersome gait.

Maybe referencing on hyenas might help a bit? I don't know, the proportions look kind of similar but it probably won't work exactly right... Although it might inspire you a bit on some of the movements...

But the arms are more human so it won't work there...

The cool thing about art is, that anyone can technically achieve whatever they wish to be able to do, if they invest enough time into it ;>
A couple years back I would've never even imagined that I would ever get into animation
And when I first tried it out, I only got "meh" results,, it's not like I suddenly understood the whole science behind it upon drawing the first line, and there's plenty of stuff I've simply tested out and scrapped right afterwards because there's still so much I have no idea how to do

But seriously, you don't have to have any amazingly trained skills to animate, if you can draw a stickfigure 10 times in different poses while keeping it's proportions similar, then you could animate whole fight scenes,, there are free programs like Firealpaca and Krita where you could do normal frame by frame animation,, or you could do it traditionally too if you don't do any digital art,, nothing is stopping you from trying it out

This turned out really smooth, and the part where the wolfman runs and then the turn to face the camera is super good looking
Β I know that this may be a little out of place but I'd been wanting to do animations recently as well, and I've been looking at wolf runs and all that If you wouldn't mind a small suggestion, it could add more dramatic effect if the shoulders went down a little bit and have the arms bend a little more? Kinda like he's really bracing himself against the ground before he leaps into a run again. And maybe a little slide when he stops and turns the camera just to show how abrupt the movement is? Once again, I apologize if that was unwanted suggestions, but I don't know if you want any feedback or not

(P.s. The run still looks really cool. The shoulder suggestion and slide definitely isn't needed, but if you wanted to exaggerate the werewolf's motions a little you could try it out if you wanted.)
