Woupd you ever be willing to share your knowledge of how to draw fur?
Ive been studying this today but im really wondering how you do it. Im a big fan of that style.

I feel like I change up my methods every few months or so, and with this new one, I wouldn't even be able to break it down properly since I haven't really explored it much outside of this piece.
In general, all my methods for fur follow the same system: start with the biggest shapes, break them down into sections, divide those into clumps, and then add singular strands of fur here and there. You'll need to have some kind of plan for the flow of the fur, because how you go about those different steps, will dictate the entire look of the style.
Are all the "clumps" the same size and shape? Do they point in the same direction? Do you add fur strands everywhere or just in specific locations? Did you imitate specific fur clump shapes from real life photo, or did you improvise and stylize? Do you outline the clumps or just hint at shadows at the darkest spots?
I'm barely even able to keep track of the decisions I take during painting, since I so often just mix and match depending on gut feeling. So yeah I'm not yet able to properly pin down what works and what doesn't since my fur painting is do dependant on whatever "feels right" at the time. I'm only able to share the type of questions that dictate the outcome of the piece concerning fur
