Ohwow look at that, digital illustration that isnt a commissioned piece? Wowee and its even featuring possibly a new character that ISNT a doggo?
yeh feels like its been a while
but thanks to some random music youtu.be/K9JTayC7vJI I felt the need to draw a sporty bunbun that could kick some mean butts
It's been on my mind for a while, but this would finally be my first -female- anthro/animal character
I think I'll name her Liz

Have you done a tutorial on how you do that sheen thing ive noticed its a frequent thing with how you paint and i would love a tutorial to know how you do it for example near the back and on the shoulders and on the arms you make lines look really sharp and nice it defines the muscles but tapers away where there would be a dip.

My tutorials always look more like a messy spreadsheet of random scribbles and notes, but I think the video that pointed me towards a more solid idea of how to apply that painting style was this one www.youtube.com/watch?v=zC3Oxo⦠its all about deciding when to smooth and when to "cut" (hard edge), and to do the shiny, you basically have a bump that transitions into another plane - The bump has a dark-to-light gradient from the area of plane-change up to the "top" of the bump where the color can even feature highlights - at the plane-change you can either just have a small bright line highlighting a "crease" or make it into another gradient, but this time light-to-dark away from that "crease". To make it more shiny, you can pick how contrasty those small details should be - more contrast/brighter highlights = more reflective surface/shinier
