Nice mermaid!
Yeah, the "OST" mermaids were pretty neat, and a good reminder to many that their origins in mythology weren't about loving and wanting to become a human, but rather that they were mischievous and vain predators of man and caused a lot of trouble on the high seas. Mermaids are MONSTERS!!
The "OST" mers were a much-needed and well-made contrast for Disney to make against their animated counterparts from decades earlier, and I'm very pleased they took that step.
Much as I still adore 20+ years later, I never forget that part of her background. (Indeed, one of her older sisters, Adella, carries the more-typical mermaid stereotype persona.)
'Bout the only thing I disagreed about with the "OST" mers was their tails were too long for proper control as they were swimming without having stabilizing fins of some sort, and they did the cop-out thing of allowing them to transform into a human-like appearance. But otherwise, they did a very good job with those mers.
...This all coming from a guy who is not a fan of any of the PotC movies.

on this artwork she is a mermaid. but in my oc's history she is a human/something similar to human. seems I need to change my artist's comment a bit
