Usually I'm working with inkscape to do most of the work, but gimp is also important part of my workflow - I'm using gimp in last stage to add textures, shadows and make other small improvements.
There is reason for this. When I was working on my first mobile games I were using gimp mainly. Soon new generation of devices shows up (with a lot better screen resolution) and I quickly realized that I need to recreate all the graphics once again. I was so upset that I decided to learn vectors and inksape

Brilliant! Thanks for your links and your support for inkscape. I'm one of the developers for Inkscape and it's great to know we have such nice users.
