1. Yes ! I wanted to make it like a cute inside thing that Meridian rulers have long hair which symbolises their power and connection to magical realm
Elyon as a queen has them just as long , but i guess you will see it in time in new chapters of my comics ! In which universe this is all set in ,yes)
2. Yes this IS Johnathan Ludmoore) Although he didn't discover the " Ludmoore " part of his name in period of time shown here
As though for his relationship towards Weira, I described it best in my tumblr post about them :
" Johnathan is "adopted son" of queen Alhana and seen by Weira as such - her older brother and Phobos uncle . But Alhana herself didn't saw him like that and so Johnathan doesn't either
(He's not sure what his role in their family is ,after Alhana's death)"
So basically- they knew each other since they where kids , it's why their little squabble is so casual

It's kind of both actually ! He's roots and even race is different in this version ( he is still a powerful being though) but though mental abuse and restriction on his self expression he was forced to never look into it .
But later in his life, he does do that, and so he makes his second name " Ludmoore " as a reclamation of his identify and legacy that was taken from him
