Description This is what used to be known as the masquerade gown, but has been renamed the Artemis costume, since A) I have no mask, B) I was called Artemis and Diana quite a bit throughout the day. Oh yeah, and first time I've ever worn most of this stuff XD

The gown was made by me in 3 days, and the bodice is a corset style with steel boning.

Design, construction, modeling, yadda yadda by me.

sometimes I really wish I could sew, I gave it up long ago. These costumes are just marvelous! I could look at each one for hours and still would find something I haven't seen yet.

What happened to the bottom part of the bow ? it just disappeared

What is your bow ? Bamboo and EPE (Brazilian Walnut) ? ... the bamboo is beautiful
What is your draw weight ?

I have an English Warbow (and Iā€™m from England), which is Hickory, Bamboo, EPE at 6ft 6in with a 80 lbs draw weight

And I must say your dress is exquisite, you are easily the most beautiful archer & swordswoman I have ever seen

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Reine-Haru In reply to Shadow4u2find [2011-05-12 04:42:13 +0000 UTC]

Ahh yes, a little kid's head used to be there and it was a quick editing job. Oops

My bow is a bamboo backed English longbow with a 45 pound draw weight and 27" draw length.

Thank you for your compliments, kind sir ^_^

Did you get your fabric at a Hancock's?
The black leafy bit looks like a beautiful drapery we had.

I've only ever dreamed of such a dress...it must be very fun to go to the Renaissance fairs. When I was younger I wanted to be an archer or a pirate, I couldn't choose....(I still secretly do haha) I love this style and your handiwork--great job

How heavy was that weaponry anyway?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Reine-Haru In reply to karmo0 [2010-02-03 16:49:43 +0000 UTC]

Not terribly; the sword is about 20 pounds, and the bow+quiver was no more than 10 or 15.

karmo0 In reply to Reine-Haru [2010-02-03 17:38:35 +0000 UTC]

karmo0 In reply to Reine-Haru [2010-02-03 23:57:05 +0000 UTC]

And that blade didn't attract the attention of any police officer?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Reine-Haru In reply to karmo0 [2010-02-05 12:21:50 +0000 UTC]

It's allowed on the fair grounds (the photo was taken at a Renaissance fair) though it was peace tied before hand.
