Once aboard the USS Johnlock it becomes physically impossible not to go down with the ship. I'm sorry, but after even just that one episode you are now officially trapped and screwed in the best possible way.
BTW, everything gets even better after The Blind Banker, easily the lowest high point of the series. And you have unknowingly doomed yourself to extra feels when you revisit your description above at the end of Season 2.
