Haven't you noticed, in the movie, that Rapunzel's eyes look more cartoon-ish, while Flynn's are more near-realistic? In terms of their size comparison to the entire body, I mean.

You're right! I had to go back and look at the pictures but yes, they are much more realistic than Rapunzel's. I think the king has a little more realistic eyes too but the thugs don't seem to. What do you think?

I think the designers wanted to illustrate how lively and wild Rapunzel's world has become, especially with her going out the tower, thus the cartoonish design; the same thing goes for the characters who live within the realm of the kingdom (including Flynn and the royal family), which is more relaxed and civilized, thus the realistic design.
