Description Pete Puma- bass, Spike/Hector- vocals, Claude Cat- lead guitar, Sylvester Cat- vocals, Dodsworth Cat- keyboards, Charlie Dog- rhythm guitar and vocals, Marc Anthony- drums.

Since I've learned a few more tricks with digital art, I figured I would use them to make another album art recreation. This piece is parody of The Specials debut album. Anyone who happens to be a fan of punk and ska/reggae is familiar with this album. If you're not familiar, it's definitely worth checking out!

This is the first digital art piece aside from the Mowhawk piece Iv'e done where I didn't do any traditional ink work. Doing the outlines with my tablet pen was a huge test of my hand eye coordination skills. The lines are still a little shaky for my likeness in a few areas. But overall I am very pleased with how this turned out.

Most of these characters I've drawn at least once before, so it wasn't too hard to get their likeness down.

Since the original album art was in black and white, I figured I'd make it pop with extra colors, mainly bright yellow and dark red. Also figured I'd play around the rude boy clothing as well. At one point I almost considered exaggerating the clothing with extra punk accessories and references to ska bands, but I figured this would have made the image too busy.

I also did my best to change all the song tittles into Loony parody versions. Some were left the same, others I couldn't think of anything good.

Here is the original album cover as a reference:Ā  sta.sh/02iysis3k9k

You had me at Looney Tunes there. Man, the childhood memories! I really like their colour scheme! Along with the entire artpiece, it's simple but well-done, which I really appreciate! Their perspectives is spot on too!
Great work man! Keep it up-

Thanks! I wanted to keep it clean and simple. The perspectives took a moment to figure out how to look right.

I've always been a huge fan of the Looney Tunes cartoons since I was a kid, so I have to give you kudos for keeping true to the style of the original cartoon characters. You paid attention to every detail of the physical aspect and personalities of the different characters. You left no stone unturned when it came to the characters: Sylvester, Spike/Hector, Claude, Dodsworth, Pete, Charlie, and Marc Anthony.Ā  But I have to give mucho kudos in doing justice to the style, lettering, and graphic design of the original album. In the original album cover, we see the original Specials ska band in their pose, looking up at the camera at a central angle. With the Looney Tunes Skatunes, you did the same thing. As you mentioned, the Skatunes is a parody of the Specials debut album. As a fan of ska reggae music, I must say that your pic does justice to the original debut album. I would say that your pic is a parody. Iā€™d say that the pic is a homage. It does look like a professionally done LP cover. I liked the way you dressed the characters up in rude boy duds. I dig the way the tonic suits, the stingy brim hats, mod loafers, and shades give the cats and dogs an air of cool. Even giving Claude Cat a red mohawk added to his hip look. The bright yellow and dark red colors also helped make the suits stand out. Great job! Iā€™m also impressed with the lineup of the band: Pete Puma on bass, Spike/Hector on vocals, Claude Cat on lead guitar, Sylvester Cat on vocals, Dodsworth Cat on keyboards, Charlie Dog on rhythm guitar and vocals, and Marc Anthony on drums.Ā

Thank you! I felt going digital with this would be the best way to replicate the original LP. Glad you love it!
