Since Pride month is almost over, I figured I'd do this. This picture is based on a real event that happened to me about a year ago.

I'd went downtown to take care of a few errands one day. While I don't remember why, I was in a very foul mood at time. As I was crossing the street, I could see this man on the opposite side of the crosswalk speeding across the street, letting the pride flag flap in the wind. For brief moment, seeing this guy confidently riding without a care of who was watching, made what ever I was upset about the time disappear. I knew that one day, I HAD to draw this guy!

But I always kept forgetting to do it. Whether it was previous projects I was already working on, or new ones that popped up unexpectedly, I'd never gotten around to it. In fact I actually meant to do something like this for this past Inktober!

I have to admit, part of the reason I did this at all was I'd recently gotten some new art supplies I wanted to test out; a set of Blick alcohol marks, and a doubled ended Pentel brush pen. The markers were nice and vibrant. While they blend nicely, I had make a light touch when coloring with them because they had a tendency to bleed. The pen came with a large brush end and fine tip on the other. This gave me more of a variety of line weight as I was drawing in the rider.
While I could have a better job, I like how this turned out.
