Description Another gesture, maybe a little bit more complicated, from tonight's Drawing II class. I really like this one, especially the unfinished part. It is a finished drawing, it's just supposed to be sort of undefined in the top.

They had several trees lining the parking lot with these parking signs in-between. It was very amusing. Living plant life, with planted manmade things.

you have Mad skills...
i wish i could do something like this.
i like this a lot better than the other(don't worry the other one is still ReallY good...).
I LOVE the bottom of the tree, you made it so clear and bold but then as you go to the top it just gets lighter and a bit messy. absolutly it.

Really nice shading. That undefined top makes it very lively..gives a sort of a "windy" feeling.

reed682 In reply to Kaylanna [2006-09-28 01:49:09 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. It also works toward the illusion of the top being out of focus.

Thanks, the unfinished part is actually part of th art of the piece. It is suggesting the part of the tree that is out of focus.

.............................

I am......................

amazed.

Seriously.

It's like the talents have no end.

.............................

I keep staring at this one, too.

If this was in front of me in real life, I might steal it from you and climb into a tree and stare at it and not give it back to you. Unless you were to bribe me with something.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

reed682 In reply to Hitotsuboshi [2006-09-27 23:19:07 +0000 UTC]

So you'd steal and look at a picture of a tree... in.. a.. tree?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hitotsuboshi In reply to reed682 [2006-09-28 00:57:53 +0000 UTC]

Yes! Where else would I look at a picture of a tree? Come to think of it.... I don't remember seeing many trees with branches while I was in Florida. Have you ever been up in a tree, Reed? 'Tis great fun. They're nice for sitting in for pretty much any reason.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

reed682 In reply to Hitotsuboshi [2006-09-28 01:50:41 +0000 UTC]

There are MANY tres with branches here all over the place and to answer your question, yes, I have been in many trees.

Hitotsuboshi In reply to reed682 [2006-09-28 05:59:04 +0000 UTC]

reed682 In reply to Hitotsuboshi [2006-09-28 13:28:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they're every where, especially in the center of the state. The palm trees like the hang out at the coasts.

Hitotsuboshi In reply to reed682 [2006-09-28 13:42:11 +0000 UTC]

Yes.... Just before falling asleep last night, I suddenly realized what a dumb question that had been in the first place, seeing as how you'd just drawn two pictures of trees with branchs.... Oi. Ignore me.

.... I did really like the palm trees, too.

Mendras-Terol [2006-09-27 02:12:45 +0000 UTC]

I dunno why, I just really like how that smudgy area on top works with the detail on the bottom. It just works.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

reed682 In reply to Mendras-Terol [2006-09-27 02:16:41 +0000 UTC]

It is fun because it is putting emphasis one the interesting part just like your eye does. The parts that are out of focus in normal vision are implied to be out of focus here. I want you to pay attention to the branches and not everything else, so I only draw and detail the part I find important. Maybe you'll try it too some day.
