Series: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Lord Zedd without a doubt the most epic villain to EVER come out of Power Rangers. In fact he was one of the few American made villains that didn’t look or act like an idiot. Personally I believe he could have not only held his own against the Power Rangers, but would have mopped the entire galaxy with them. The only reason he didn’t was because the where stock footage happy back in those days. He DID enter the command center during the fourth season, and he did have a brief battle with Tommy, but that was rather pitiful because Zedd just sat there and Tommy beat him by turning his staff back into a snake (Biblical reference?). Now Zedd had a bit of a down fall. What was it? He got married. Apparently someone thought he was “Too Evil” and decided it would be best to tone him down by having him marry Rita. That makes on since in the long run considering villains are supposed to be evil, and if it was because the where worried about him scaring children I can honestly tell you me, and my best friend thought he was cool.
About the picture: This is one of those that was surprisingly easy to get drawn. I took me only one attempt and his pose is based off a pose which is a sprite from a Power Ranger fighting game. I did think about putting bubbles in his blood tubes, but I decided against it cause it looked odd.

I have a big passion for franchise villains, and for me, Lord Zedd kicked off the trend for me. I'm surprised there's not a lot more artwork out there for the poor guy >.>

Thanks! He was surprizingly easy for me to draw really. I kinda think his falling out might have been that they "mellowed" him out when the series continued. That and I think people where like "Seriously? Another season called Mighty Motphin Power Rangers?"

I don't think the latter would have applied just yet, since it still made a lot of bucks for Saban nonetheless (!). (fyi, I pretty much stuck around until the Turbo saga, though I still saw some In Space episodes from time to time, especially "Countdown to Destruction").
I do agree that they must have gone a bit too far in terms of character development - if anything I would have thought the people who complained were more fearful for the way he looked rather than his character. And as much as I liked "The Wedding" with some of its sillier humor than the usual (namely from Alpha), it seemed like a drastic turn to take >.>

Lord Zedd was and still is my favorite Power Ranger Villain. I hated when they had him marry Rita. He just got so weak after that. But I do agree with RedWingsdragon, he could have mopped the galaxy with the Rangers if Saban hadn't relied so much of Footage from Japan.

Ah yes back when power rangersdidn't seem too ridiculus I loved watching the series when I was a kid,though I didn't rmeember aot I cna see why he would be one of your top 10 lol although I'm sure back in those days villaisn where mean tto be evil,but hey jsut cause your a cold hearted son f abitch doens't ya can't get amrried but I can se eyour point and I'm impressed that you got him down in one attempt

Thank man! Yeah I to use to enjoy Power Rangers, but once they blew up the continuity after the "evil purging wave" it started to suuuuuuck. Oh If you wanna watch the classic series again check out youtube.
