Description I wanted to try something that had a removable mask. At the moment I could only think of Kroenen and Power Rangers.

Hello hello! I haven't been online for some day's I'm sorry. School has kept me quite busy... WELL ANYWAY! I used super sculpey for this one. Sometimes I also use another clay called plastiroc, it's not good for details though (I use it only for like filling holes in things that I can't bake, to stick things together, or if it's something really huge I need to sculpt, like a base, just to make things cheaper.)

Paandrik In reply to redtrackz [2009-04-30 15:56:03 +0000 UTC]

Its nice! Is the Grey parts pre-made and hardened? The details are amazing. I love anything with a Mask. Now I'm inspired to make more masked characters!

redtrackz In reply to Uratz-Studios [2009-04-27 18:10:52 +0000 UTC]

Nope, the grey parts are super sculpey firm, it has that colour. I usually mix the two clays merely because the grey one it easier to see. ^^

That is nice, I´m looking forward to see what you might come up with. Personally I´ll definately do someting like this again. ^^

"At the moment I could only think of Kroenen and Power Rangers."
Why don't you make a character what is comes out from your own mind ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

redtrackz In reply to DarkMask [2009-04-27 18:07:21 +0000 UTC]

I do occationally, more in drawings though. I usually don´t upload that. ^^ The thing is for me it work better to learn new things, in sculpture, if I try to recreate existing characters. Maybe because then I can´t go around certain difficulties that I might run into. ^^ Though thank you for the suggestion, I will do it later on.

Beelzebubba666 [2009-04-25 17:19:28 +0000 UTC]

That is some sweet work--I love the idea of the removable mask. As a kid, all my favorite GI Joe figures were the ones who had masks and helmets you could take off. In fact, I had to kick myself recently after doing a Cobra Commander sculpt. It's the 'hooded' version, and then I thought, man, that would've been so easy to to an alternate 'battle helmet' head to switch between.

But I digress. I always thought the design of this guy from Hellboy was amazing. Have you ever thought to getting into this on a professional level? The stuff you make is easily as good as just about anything I've seen on store shelves.

redtrackz In reply to Beelzebubba666 [2009-04-27 17:47:03 +0000 UTC]

Haha I´ve always liked detachable parts too. So it´s more or less the same thing for me, I remember a certain TMNT figure that had a removable samurai mask. It was great. ^^ Hehe... apparently I didn´t play with Barbies. You know, they don´t come with armour and other fancy equipment... I don´t consider a comb or hair clips as anything fancy.

Weeeeell, I always liked his design too. ^^
What I do is still not good enough to manage in that kind of business. From what I see, I´d have to improve A LOT. ^^
