Aw....Poor dear sweet little boy! *Sniffles* Oh he was so sweet and too young to die. But he was spared the horror his family had to go through. Ooh! Why couldn't that woman have seen what she was doing?! *Crosses arms angrily* She was spoiled and mean and selfish! Using her children as an excuse to avoid her court life. What Fersen ever saw in her I'll never know!

Poor sweet Joesph. May your soul rest in peace

So cute...it´s really funny how Joseph looks so much like Oscar, it almost looks like she´s his mom and not Marie-Antoinette

Well with Oscar he would have a much better mother than with the austrian woman..-.- except that he was Louis´ son and couldn´t have a better one but, i wished he would be her son... :/

I don´t think MA was a bad mother, but I agree, Oscar would be an awesome mom

Oh if yo are able to read some good history books of her, beliebve me she was I study french history since over 7 years now.. and especially the life of Louis XVI... MA was everything else than a good mother...... she was it just 4 month in her life when she lost everything else during the time into the Temple prison...-.- She acted like a soooo loving mother after, she never was so before..Ther are sio many proofs for it... E.g that Marie Therese hated her already in the age of 5 years... No child do this with a great loving mother.... And no it was not likke the guys who adore MA, that it was the fault of MT´s nanny... cause it canßt being hat, cause the nanny was actually someone MA was known with...
But yes yes who is suprised when she have nothing for to pass one´s time with her farm-town-life and to spend money for her own luck and joy... but well well...yes well maybe oscar wouldn´t be soo great as a mother too.... cause for that she is to much like a man XD BUT she would take def. MUCH more care of him tham the austrian...

And sry... i slightly a lil bit in the off-topic^^°°

That really depends on what being a good mother meant for aristocrats in the XVIII century. Back them the whole idea of a "loving mother" was completely different from what it is today. I did read a bit about Marie Therese having problems with her mother, but mostly because MA was a little rigid with the discipline of her kids. No 5 year old child hates their mother for real (unless there´s abuse involved). Trust me kids can say they hate somebody, but in reality they are just upset, is not real hate. MA´s kids were more intimate with their nannies, but that was true for all children of aristocratic families, it was how aristocratic families worked(noble women weren´t even allowed to breastfeed their babies, for example). According to the patterns of the time MA was a good mother (even the revolutionaries had a difficult time trying to paint her as a bad mother). I don´t love MA,she had MANY faults but she wasn´t a bad mother, I think...

Oscar could be a great mom, imo. I know many masculine women who are great mothers Good moms exist in every style

Well i know the "rules" and ways you educate your children back in days, i know. And sure its not the same like we used to do today BUT a band between a mother and a child is a natural thing and MA had the rumor to be a great loving woman for children. Cause if you read about them you know that they said e.g, she had a lot of siblings, she was since she lived in Versaillles in the company of children for to bring her joy ect.. and such a woman don´t care about her own then? MA didn´t wanted to get chikdren by herself so quickly... cause with that she would lost her "baby-look" People around her adored her for her look like a child also with 17-18-19 ect... And i read more than a bit of MT and MA... And MA wasn´t not just rigid ewith them she used them like a new Accessoir when she got the first. Cause her rank changed and she found something new for to be a "queen"...
Did you every read some french books to them? Or should better ask which kind of books you read to/of them? And sry no 5 years old girl say that it doesn´t care if her mother could die when she was falling from a horse and that her mother don´t look at her when she actually wants to visit her and that she did/do the same when she took her to the aunts... In the opposite to her father which took her hand and took care of her as well. Louis XVI was the must better part of a great parent than MA ever was and nobody need to tell me there, she had no time, it was a different time ect ect.. CAUSE the king had much mire work and things to do then in that case the queen... he wasn´t that one how escaped into a fake world of a farm or to ignor everything around him and just wanjte to be the most beautiful person in the country (what she never was .. brrr ugly horse face -.-) well... And MT said her first words also to him not to her, she recognised him in first in the age of some month of 8 and 12 month and the first time she recognised her mother just in the age of 15 month....
And well that it wasn´t normal to feed your own children by breastfeed well yes actually not but at this time the Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire did it e.g... and she was a close friend of the queen and also of the queens friend like the Duchess de Polignac. She and MA got a letter from "G" were she wrote that she really think and wants to take care of her babygirl by herself. But MA and Mme de Polignac were against it and told/wrote her back that she shouldn´t do it by her self for that you have "nannies" indeed. But "G" did her own way and TOOK care of her baby against all "rules"
Well so for me there is no real "pattern" annymore since MA changed sooo extremely much during her "regime" and ther are so many other things children needed beside a "good edjucation" for the "ceremonial" And as you can see on Louis XVI and "G" there were indeed different "ways" to handle your child... So as said, there were soo many other things MA did and did not to/with her children that except of these "rules" she was e.g NOT that what you can call a good mother... as you e.g also said.. the nannies did often a better job beside their father ect ect ect...

Well yes as said she would in many way a much better moother than the austrain woman... but well when i think about Oscar as a mother... well.. honestly André would be the female part.. so the mother and Oscar the big boss-daddy XDDD you see?
