OMG it's been some time since I did anything regarding Mirari. Anyway, this is an introduction on her family. Her mother, Kotokura Asuka; her father, Kotokura Takehiko; and her brother, Kotokura Fumio. Mirari's father worked as a stock broker and her mother was a housewife. But she wasn't always a housewife. Mirari's mother used to be a violinist that was pretty well known but she had to quit after her condition got worse. Her mother was inflicted with tuberculosis and had made a recovery from it when she was 16. However, she had a relapse which was drug resistant. No matter what treatment she went through, nothing could help her. Knowing this, Asuka decided that instead of spending the rest of her days in a hospital, she'd rather spend it with her family. This decision frightened Takehiko but he conceded since it was what his wife wanted. Eventually, when Mirari was 3, Asuka died. Takehiko, not being able to deal with his wife's passing, started drinking more often. He soon died 5 months after his wife's passing from a car accident. Fumio and Mirari were then placed in the care of their distant relatives. Their caretakers were pretty good to them, with the wife being a housewife and the husband a professional shogi player. One day, he taught Fumio how to play the game and learned that he had a natural talent for it. He then started registering Fumio into tournaments. Fumio quickly rose ranks until he achieved the title of meijin when he was 21. It was doing that time where people started to notice Mirari's talent in designing. By then, Fumio's and Mirari's relationship had been strained since he no longer had time to spend with her. Hearing of his sister's talent, Fumio became a sponsor for Mirari's fashion brand. Eventually, their relationship turned from loving brother and sister to sponsor and sponsee. Mirari hadn't heard a word from him only on birthdays where he would have a short dinner with her. After the Tragedy at Hope Academy, Mirari ceased any communications with her brother and considers him to have died during the chaos.
