We have the sea about 15 miles away, Quite a few rivers, castles, woodland, cornfields and so on. It's brill

Aw, you're so lucky! In the part of Cali that I live in, it's all barren. Just houses and it's a small town so you can't really get out of this town without a car. it sucks! Especially because a lot of my inspiration is sparked by scenery too.

we have a pretty good public bus service

We have bus and lightrail too but even that's a long way to walk to. I don't really like bus so much as I like lightrail.
