At the very first quick glance at the thumbnail I thought this was by someone else, ha. Perhaps it was the colour scheme you used. Of course with a second glance I realised it was yours, duh. I like it though it's a really different approach from your other stuff in terms of colour schemes. ^^
Love your take on the Ropesnake and Lucas' expression along with the way he's got his head turned looks like they're both ready for battle. That's more the Lucas I like to see as opposed to the timid, cowardly, cry-baby type many seem to portray him as... I suppose he was like that in the past, but I think people overdo it. Lucas is a strong kid!
Anyway, I'm always happy to see your art Miles. Keep up with it! I can see your improvements over time and I love that. ^^

Yeah, it's quite different than other things, huh? I thought its simplicity would look nice as an icon, and voilà! I feel I was right! I don't entirely like people who overuse sunflowers/make him look weak/crying a lot/other cliché things. He's definitely a strong kid, and though sunflowers are kind of his comfort, he doesn't need them as much as people draw him with!
I hope people realize this...
Also, I have another piece I'm working on, and I hope it turns out as well as I see it turning out! I'd like some feedback on it when I post it, which should be this Saturday.

Ha yes I do draw him with sunflowers but it's more so for the visual perspective, since they fit really nicely with his colour scheme. But I'm trying to limit it a bit now since I feel I've drawn sunflowers too much. Need to vary it up more, haha.
Oh, that will be on Christmas day here, haha. I'll make sure to hop on to dA and tumblr to check it out! (as well as sending some Xmas wishes!)
But pfft that alone can be considered little Xmas surprise for me considering how much I love seeing new art from you. ^^

Ahh, I'm sorry, you were right, that Saturday was Christmas... I seriously was so thrown out of the loop of what day it was, and I should of payed attention to the date. I didn't know it was Christmas until 2 days before it was...
Then from there I just got super busy with signing up for college, filling out more applications for jobs, and family, and these past 3 weeks have been very stressful and not what I'm used to so I didn't get to work on much art, my blog, talking to anyone or anything. However, I'm hoping that will change rather soon!
Also, yeah, you're right, he does look nice with the sunflowers, but I don't know, I'm not too much into the mainstream way of thinking. Though, that doesn't mean I don't like it! Some art can actually be very creative despite it having cliché elements, yeah?

Aww despite how busy and stressful it has been for you I really appreciate you putting time to reply and comment here. I also really hope you will get some more time to yourself soon! I've been missing chatting with you...
But yes I know what it's like signing up for uni, (equivalent to college from my knowledge), from my past experience and I've just recently signed up and put in lots of documents for a job application so that kept me busy.
Etsy sales went crazy over the Xmas period so I'm actually still behind gift art... or just art in general. I felt lucky I could get yours done not too late.
As for now I've been spending lots of time with family since I'm in my holiday period. But I think it's gonna slow down so I'll have more time at home for drawing, chatting and that kinda stuff up to the end of this month. Then we're going on a cruise to New Zealand for two weeks. So yeah I've been pretty busy too, but that basically summarises me from the past month to now. (Oh also I've been addicted to Pokemon Moon lol) I can talk about what I've been up to in more detail when we can next have a proper chat, there's a plentiful of stuff I'd like to share with you.
Heh some of my favourite Lucas fanart has him with sunflowers but yes I know what you mean. It's good you like to swerve away from mainstream stuff btw. I like that. I feel I do it too but only subconsciously, haha.
