-Appearance: My redesign of Jano is similar to his original incarnation, this time he has included some voodoo motifs to add more personality.

Yes, i love this with the blue flames and the coloured feathers and the skull teeth. This redesign definitely is one of the best out there and also does fit with the first incarnation as i also know about it from the rayman pirate community page.
It doesnt steer too far away because it keeps the main features of polokus and the feathers and mainly blue flame really makes it believable that this is how polokus was before at the start.
You should make a comic about polokus and how rayman defeated him.

Second, it seems that you are confusing an erroneous translation that says that Polokus "transformed" into Jano.
That is not so: Polokus created Jano by accident, as it says here: raymanpc.com/wiki/en/Jano
