Great capture, I really like the natural composition of the birds in flight.
The subtle blues in the sky contrast well against the pin sharp focus on the birds.

this is one of the best photos I've seen lately and the fac that each goose has been captured making different moves makes it unique. Great job!

I love the whole photo, but to me, the one goose with the open mouth, calling out makes it. I also like the depth because of the blurry ones in the background. It wouldn't be the same if you took them out.

this is awesome...i was just watching planet earth and they were talking about their migration and how there are thousands upon thousands taking off at once

Yea, the photos I have dont do justice. When you see them from a distance, it looks like one huge organism hovering around. Its almost a little eerie...

i couldnt even imagine how intense it must be to see something like that go on...hopefully ill have a chance to see the big sandhill crane migration here and get a shot of a ton of them taking off at once...i havent seen too many other birds migrating here

nicely done! I can't ever seem to get anything in flight. It'd be great to see the snow geese up north during their summer migration.

Thanks! It was nice renting the 300 f2.8, lenses like that are in a different league than any consumer zoom or even a 300 f4 as far as autofocus goes.

thats awesome. i have a 300 f/4 and can't imagine what a 2.8 would be like.

Nice. The clouds at the bottom third give a sense of horizon line. I love the sharpness and detail. I think personally I would have cloned out the two little fuzzy birds at the top left and right. Just my two cents. Great work

Hey thanks, glad you like it. I noticed the out of focus birds that you are talking about too, however i am not really a fan of cloning things out unless its a dust spot or maybe unwanted lens flare. I do appreciate your two cents though, thank you.

I know what you mean about the cloning. I feel like I'm cheating if I start cloning things out. I do make exceptions on occasion but I try to keep it real as much as possible. Your welcome, I always enjoy your work.
