Overall, I'm really happy with how this turned out - anatomically it's fairly sound - at least I think so.

Korso, my dog, was most helpful. He was sleeping beside me, so I could keep picking up his paws and tinkering around with joints for reference. He didn't even really wake up.

Pose-able reference rocks.

Took about...8-9 hours maybe. Mechanical pencil in my sketchbook.

very nice!! I love all of the detail and the wolf's face is perfect!! The only things I can see are that the head looks a little big and the torso is maybe a little short (as far as where it connects to the legs) It still looks really good though

Well, I got curious, and was tinkering around in photoshop, and I do like his head ever so slightly smaller.

Thanks.

Thanks for the comments; the high back, as well as large head/paws/feet was intentional, and the short torso.

The desire was to make him very stocky looking - without going cartoony and silly - while still having relatively slim limbs in comparison to the paws/feet.

His female counterpart is in the works.

i think it looks ace
i see what you mean about the neck but i rekon it makes it look like its in an aggressive skulk and gives the peice a overall predatory effect

i think hes going to bite someones head off

A predatory look what I was aiming for; so I'm glad to know someone else thinks it works

Thanks I still am contemplating whether or not the back of the neck rises a bit too steeply; but that's the type of look I was aiming for - the way wolves typically hang their heads low. I guess I'm just not familiar with how it looks, since I've never taken that approach.
